You 20v turbo (and n/a) boys have any interest in a vernier exhaust pulley?

Gonna be making one for my little project so if there's any interest I'll get a few blanks ordered.

Might even do an inlet one to match, save a bit of weight from std and make it look prettier tongue

Key is part of the pulley on the exhaust.

bump - having this and an inlet made very soon.

the exhaust will be a hybrid of a new alloy pulley and the existing steel pulley. so you'd need to send me your old pulley. this is the most cost effective way to retain the sensor pickup and keyway.

Both pulleys are already adjustable.

The exhaust pulley only has about 5 degrees of adjustment.

Be keen to see if there's a difference from this as dti gauge isn't the best method of adjusting these with no reference point.

I have altered mine mechanically to optimise the exhaust lift.
On tdc the exhaust will move a good 3-4 teeth without contact.
However this has caught alot of people out as there actually isn't much in it though if you consider 180 degrees down the line you'll be opening a valve if your not careful.

Around 2 teeth advanced ,the vacuum drops dramatically which is conclusive at that point its too far advanced and allowing a loss of compression.
Poor starting and idle from hot with very violent top end power are the resulting symptoms.

Around a tooth gives a good increase of vacuum, usually 15-20hg gain over standard in my experience with no adverse effects.
So VE is slightly increased also.

Good idea from OP thumb

Had a PM about these, I did make them in the end but as there was no interest, I only made the one pair. More can be made but unless it's a batch of 5 pairs or more, it would have to wait until we're having a run of verniers made for another engine at work - otherwise it would be cost prohibitive (machine setup etc.)

Anyway, for anyone wondering, here are mine, anodised to match the car smile

Estimating in the region of £125 a pair, plus shipping. Existing exhaust pulley would need to be sent to me for machining. They are for the 20v only though. I believe they already exist for the 16v.
