Hi Laurysr,
I live in Maidenhead and am doing something similar in my van with a Prosense Tablet, which is basiaccly a copy of you nexus with HDMI output. I would be interested to learn how you got the USB hub to work as sounds ideal for my van.
Fancy meeting up in the next couple of weeks for a beer?

Elder, im not sure how your tablet will work.
Sure we can meet in few weeks,
Alexjames the diagram of wiring is roughly ok. But u need to adopt it to your needs. And the worst bit is "program " the tablet.
Not sure if there any custom roms avalable for other tablets.

I chose nexus 7 with cyanogen mod and custom kernels to connect usb devices . There is a big choice of tablets but limmited choice of kernels.
It is hard to find an usb dac and harder to install drivers to android os.
But the base setup as I have done in my coupe works brilliant . And even without a usb dac is brilliant.

Hi Laurysr, The Hisense pro is essentially an almost identical copy of the Nexus 7. http://www.ebuyer.com/521621-hisense-sero-7-pro-32gb-tablet-m470bseWould be good to meet up in person to discuss as I am not much of a guru when it comes to android stuff.

I do understand that its a very similar copy of nexus 7. The problem is if it has hdmi port it will obviusly have android software different than nexus 7 . And thats not good if you want to run exacly same soft like me. I have tried to flash mine alot of times and I messed it up alot times aswell. ( at some point I was doing without knowing what im doing)
We can meet up no probs . Ill be working in a garage on my broomie this sunday. If u want u can come over
