sorry- someone must have covered this but I've tried various combinations of words in the search and it hasn't really come up.

does anyone have illumination at night (headlights on) in their ashtray/oddments tray, next to the cigarette lighter socket?

My car clearly has a transparent window in the top of the tray for this but there is no lamp present in the dash...

No, there is a window but no light or even holder to correspond with it. It is odd, looks like it could be easy enough to do your own version.

there seems to be a potential housing for a lamp directly above it which 'mates' with the window when the tray is in position, but that's all.

Leave this to me!
