It does look hyper-esque and also fits the time frame being a 2012 build.
Oh dear, was it anyone on here who bought it after he built it and then hated it's guts?

Is Ross's car. I built the complete engine including new crank,oil pump,pistons,rods,barbs s3 cyl head,rsr,3"exhaust,plus wheels,apexi,suspension,etc.was a big spec.
Ross sold it to a guy in Leeds who used it for track days . It changed hands a further two times and the engine started knocking following an oil change as I spoke to the guy at the weekend who hasn't owned it long.
Not sure what went wrong with the engine as I haven't seen it in 2 years but the car was very solid underneath and had thousands spent at various different places.
I would imagine the engines been run dry of oil at some point to cause that either on track or road as new cranks don't fail otherwise.
So the title isn't correct as it wasn't "after" a rebuild ,it has changed owners and seen the track many times in between with no documented service record which is a shame given the work that went into getting this car right. Nevertheless, upset as its the only engine I've personally rebuilt in 15 years that's ever failed.

I tell you, that's why I couldn't do your job. Tears and sweat to build it, for it to then get trashed.
Fingers crossed someone sees value in the remains. It is heartbreaking when your hard work is neglected or you have issues with customers. Luckily for me the majority are enthusiast and look after them, but the odd few don't. This was a 5 week project and seeing it hacked up is very upsetting. But the more the years pass the harder it is to please the customers and to keep these vehicles on the road. So strongly considering working for someone else and actually getting my life back as being self employed takes it clean away .

Hey John, stop thinking like that - at least not until you've finished my car:) You can only do your best on each job, and take pride in it - what happens after is out of your hands. Some rampant trackday action might have caused oil surge & bottom-end trouble - who knows? PS I always think that the 2nd best thing about being self-employed is when the phone rings and someone offers you work - it's great! The best thing is when the above happens and you turn it down - because it's your decision when you work and no-one else's .

If you end up being employed, then there is a good chance that you will be working on Coupes most weekends to make up for the poor weekly wage!

I'd like to say its a hell of a shame Cant believe anyone would let an engine run dry, I've worn my dipstick out checking mine. You must be really hacked off JBT.

I thought I edited the title to say "Kaput after tracking (and earlier re-build)"
or something like that, but it is unchanged?? Is it not possible to edit thread titles?

I thought Ross was having issues with this ages ago before it was sold? Yep, he didn't know it at first but there was a problems from the day he purchased it, luckily JBT solved this problems but unfortunately Ross grew tired of the coupe due to the legal stuff going on between him and the seller and sold up, god knows how the new owner's treated the car.

Enough, this is not the place to air any personal issues.
