one point of view could be to get 6 paddle clutch this way it will allow for BHP expansion if you choose to later on... light weight flywheel at same time to help faster speed up ??

yes I do. the 6 paddle is stiffer to operate than the standard clutch, I find it very corse when finding clutch n bite to pull away, on gear change no issue... its fine when used to it.

sometimes you can get judder from the 6 paddle setup. on pulling away.

I used to have some heavy duty cover and sintered plate without springs, it hold 450+bhp but daily driving is terrible, every start the engine want to jump out..
Friend, also with 450bhp have Helix set with organic & spring plate (full circle) and it drives like a stock clutch smile

Yes - Helix Organic - I've had four or five in a row (I used to do monster miles)

It gives a very heavy clutch pedal, but you get used to it. As long as you skim the flywheel when fitting, it will be perfect in traffic - I used to be able to trickle along without touching the throttle.

As the cover plate wears (or if you don't skim the flywheel), it can get juddery, but anything over 1,500rpm will cure that when pulling away

I'm currently running in excess of 450bhp and about 375lb-ft - this is way over the rating for this clutch, but it just goes to show how cautious Helix have been with their ratings

Opposite way is better.. Pressure plate/cover is more important then drive plate smile

you say you get a heavy clutch pedal is there no way to change the master or slave to make it lighter or as original its only a clutch so should not be any safety implications
Im still undecided on what clutch to go for needs to be mrs friendly just incase the worst happens and she needs to use my car! Lets hope not!!

I've got used to the Helix clutch, but to be fair, my wife would hate it - this is going to be horribly un-PC, but its really not a gurly-friendly clutch rolleyes

However, if you want to handle 400bhp AND keep it usable in traffic, you really don't have a lot of choice.

I reckon she'd hate a paddle clutch even more.....

How about the CO.ME clutch from AE CAR. Any reviews?
