Well, I had a massive rush of Alfa red blood to the head and I traveled what seemed like the length of the country to obtain this lovely GTV 3.0 V6 Cup

The cars are so different to drive; the ownership experience is going to be interesting and of course costly as I maintain regardless.

From Italian petrol-head heaven.... laugh laugh laugh

That is my dream drive way... congrats!

Just need to convince my missus that she doesn't in fact need a 5 door Focus but a V6 Alfa laugh

Thanks guys.

Yes it is all about the Busso engine, I just had to have it. These are from the ultimate generation of Coupes; modern benefits like ABS, airbags, ECU technology, but analogue driving experience, no nannying technology or flappy padels here!

I'd also like to acknowledge the helpful advice and support from t0m0 and Roger thumb

Very nice.

I was set on a 3.0 GTV before getting this (my 2nd) coupe but it was very hard to find a good one up here. I did HPI checks on quite a few and when the last one turned out to have been written off twice (yes, twice, lol) with no mention by the seller I decided to start looking at 20vt's again. Was also considering a 2.0 Spider but then this coupe appeared and the rest is history.

Like the coupe the GTV and Spider are getting on a bit now so if you leave these things much longer there'll be virtually no good ones left for sale.

That's a driveway of highs and lows!
Must say I respect your balls, a coupe is enough for me let alone a gtv as well!

Respect.

I went for the Cup for the colour and "specialness", otherwise would have gone for something like this which looks like stonking value for money and I love the red dash etc.

Great value

Yes there are plenty of dogs, but still some gems love

Hi Mark glad you got the car it looks stunning. I think we all get desensitised to the style of the coop and GTV looking at other cars(mostly exotica we can't afford) on the internet but when you see them in real life they are really special looking machines!

Thanks all for the nice comments.

My train of throught on this started with a realisation that Coupe prices are rock bottom, so why not get a lovely Broomy to match the Sprinty. Perhaps like this:

Broomy

Then I got sucked into the 911 C4s or turbo (996) and was seriously planning on jumping in, then two things happened; funds dwindled and I had a short go in a GTV V6 at Roger's.

From then it was game over and I was smitten love

So this is how I ended up with this great Italian pairing, I should have started there in the first place rolleyes.

Ownership and driving comparisons will follow once the cam belt has been done.

Fantastic Mark. It's great when we it becomes reality that we can buy stuff like this. Makes the years of hard work become really worthwhile smile

Hi Phil, yes it has been a long 38yrs of work, with motoring sacrifices along the way; never could have that Golf GTI mkII in the 1980s, raising kids it had to be an Uno. Still no regrets and consider myself very fortunate to be able to run the own and run these two classics. What is it about Italian cars that just get under your skin smile
