Hi all smile

I have recently became a Fiat Coupe owner for the first time. It's a 2.0 20VT '97 in Steel Grey (I believe), circa 89k based in Leicestershire R*** HNH if anyone recognises it?
Seems to drive well although I would like a specialist to give it the once over, and get the cambelt done as it is overdue (based on years not mileage), if anyone can recommend?
My history is varied despite still being in my 20's, i've previously owned:

Ford Fiesta Si, Ford Probe, Ford Cougar, Peugeot 205 GTi, Alfa Romeo 156 2.4 JTD, 1975 VW Beetle.

Look forward to acquainting myself with the forum.

Andy

Hi Andy
Welcome to Coupe ownership. love
89k is pretty low mileage for a 97, so hopefully you have bagged a good one?
I would recommend you take it to a specialist for a once over. They can guide you as to anything immediate which needs attention before it breaks! Keep a file of everything you do, so if you decide to sell in the future, the forum might be a good place to find a potential buyer.
These cars are rarely perfect, but an on going stream of maintenance should keep everything in check.
We look forward to seeing some pics. smile
Hope you enjoyed the Alfa. I still fancy a 159 2.4 for my "work" car.

Cheers
Mark

Probe, Cougar....!!! Sorry about that!

I actually VERY nearly bought a charcoal grey Probe 24v ten years ago, I think in 24v spec they look nice, I opted for a Rover 220 Turbo T Cat instead...

Welcome, Enjoy the 20vt!

haha I did say varied history!! laugh
The cougar was mundane in honesty, while I found the Probe to be a good enjoyable car, shame about the name though. The alfa is a lovely lovely car but hard to find in good condition and the bodywork and major impending service due (cambelt/clutch/flywheel) deemed it not worthwhile to keep.

I will get some pictures up shortly, I no doubt have some work to do but I it seems in pretty good order, with a fully stamped book and service intervals at 3-4k during the last 4-5 years. I'm not entirely sure if I believe the gauges, the oil pressure sits at 3bar on cold idle until circa 10miles it will drop to 2.5ish bar on hot idle. Other than that what temperatures should I be looking for for oil/coolant?

Johnny- I spoke to you earlier while I was at work, thanks for the price, I will let you know. Cambelt is only 20k in but it was 8 years ago shocked. It also squeals on startup but I guess this is probably a tensioner needed adjustment.

Anyway thanks for the welcome!

Hi and welcome smile

I used to have a Fiesta Si. Had it for about 6 years and still had it when I got the Coupe, but it didn't used get as often then for obvious reasons laugh and it kept randomly cutting out (which is what my Coupe does now and again too grr ), so I sold it on.

Hi and welcome! Car looks tidy, i get the impression you are a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to cars! Your pictures bring back memories of the FOC events/meets used to go along with the xr's and rs's
Enjoy!

Hello and welcome. Looks like a nice standard car you've found there.

In the boot, put your fingers through the holes in the upper panel and undo the large plastic nuts. Lamp then comes out inside the car smile
