I think this Coupe seller must have his stats all wrong:

Those pictures from the 1930's really make the coupe look like a classic.

Im also sure 6.8 is a 16v/t stat.

Yeah I corrected him as I did a mycarcheck on it and it comes back as a n/a. He the proceeded to bite my head off and told me it is 6.5 seconds to 60 as he knows what that feels like.

It's really bad to make false claims for a vehicle like that. I hope any prospective buyers will be a bit savvy and check the stats for themselves.

I always feel wary of a car if the pictures are not clear. It might be a very tidy example, but why go to the bother of doing sepia unless you're trying to hide something, especially on a sprint blue, one of the most photogenic colours
Also His attitude would make me suspicious too!

I've reported the ad to Gumtree and asked for confirmation and details of modifications to substantiate his performance claims
If someone buys it on the strength of those, they're going to be sorely disappointed!

Hopefully he'll change them to more honest figures.

I emailed the seller. He came back with the following....

"Yeah, you’re right. It’s the non turbo. I had a friend put the add up, he took the wrong description off! I haven’t bothered to change it as the add will be expiring soon".

He lives his life one 1/4 mile at a time.
Maybe his other car is a vauxhall corsa 1.2 that can do 180 and 60 in 3 seconds?

But it is still the wrong description for a turbo Coupe anyway ! Never mind.
