I have a Pro Alloy FMIC kit which I'm going to fit to my car. The kit uses a very long route to get from the turbo to the FMIC. I know there is a shorter route as described and shown here and shown here.

I would like to do this in one hit, so does anyone know what specifically is needed to be changed / bought to make the Pro Alloy FMIC kit work with the shorter route?

I just fitted my evo six Fmic this way. I running the stock turbo still for now and the boost did drop off somewhat.
But a gtec2 chip thrown in sorted things out nicely smile as a temporary measure.

Mine is the same as Pers! except i did not make up a solid pipe. mine is silicone and joining sections of pipe
I know i definitely had to buy a 45degree angled silicone reducer from the turbo to the pipe that goes along the bottom of the radiator and i think i managed to use the Pro alloy pipes and Fiat coupe pipes for the rest of it, it works very well even if it does seem a bit tight!
You will also need to flatten the edges on the bottom crossrail too or modify it! i have flattened mine but intend to make a custom one when i get a chance! yeah one day!

By the way you will definitely need to put a bevel on the alloy pipe if you cut it, as mine would come off regardless of using the heavy duty clamps!
I made a home made one by filing away metal on some Fencing pliers to match the shape of the curve, then going around and around the pipe whilst hitting the pliers with a hammer

Very very crude!! but i have never had a pipe come off since!

I will try and get some pictures if nobody does although not sure you can see much without taking it to bits
Cheers Rich

Is there any evidence of a marked improvement in performance after carrying out this modificaton? Either in terms or power output of turbo response? It seems like an awful lot of work if there is no benefit ater all...

F****** b****** thing...

No idea really!
I did mine like this when fitted so have no comparison, but on paper it makes sense even if it's not that noticeable
Apart from the cross rail issue and having to fettle away at the under tray slightly it is neat and tidy and very straight forward!

Trappy, Flea sells a "short route" FMIC kit, so he may be in a good position to discuss differences between routes?

Presumably you'd want as short as induction route as possible to minimise lag?

I think the theory is less pipe work to compress equals quicker spool!
So obviously as much hard pipe as possible is also good too, to eliminate unnessasery expanding silicone joints!
