Audi RS2 in Basildon Sunday evening. Haven't seen one of these since I was put in my place by one when I bought my Coupé nearly ten years ago. It would be closer now

Audi RS2 in Basildon Sunday evening. Haven't seen one of these since I was put in my place by one when I bought my Coupé nearly ten years ago. It would be closer now It was a funny one actually. I saw him clock me in his rear view mirror... Him: I bet he has no idea how fast this is. Sure, those 20vTs are faster than most people think... but this thing...Me: I bet he thinks I have no idea how fast that RS2 is. In fact i know exactly how fast it is, and that is faster than a coop... but he has no idea how fast this coop is Clash of the sleepers!! He floored it, I let him go... then reeled him in easily for a few seconds... and then let him go. Mark, I reckon it's nowhere near as close as it used to be AND the other way around I have a HUGE amount of respect for these cars though so didn't want to embarrass him. It could even be the same one from all those years ago actually. Same colour and they aren't exactly common!

There was a yellow McLaren F1 in Harrods race livery at Goodwood, commentator mentioned that he occasionally used it on the road
Sure does, spotted it leaving the M25 for the A3 last Wednesday
Yet to spot Kermit - JK's LaFerrari, don't suppose it will be long

The RS2
"With so much power available, the RS2 could accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour (62.1 mph) in 4.8 seconds, and achieve a maximum speed of 262 km/h (162.8 mph) (electronically restricted), despite weighing over 1,600 kilograms (3,527 lb). In a road test conducted in 1995, British car magazine Autocar timed the RS2 from 0 to 30 mph (48 km/h) at just 1.5 seconds, which they confirmed was faster than both the McLaren F1 road car, and also Jacques Villeneuve's Formula One car of that time. Even by more modern standards, its performance is exceptional; it could accelerate on-par with the C5 generation Chevrolet Corvette and a 996 generation Porsche 911. The top speed was 166 mph."

As always with mags like this, they do exaggerate a little. Once rolling, the 996 911 would easily pull away. I saw 5th Gear last night and they said that a 600bhp Rallycross car can out accelerate an F1 car based on the 2 sec 0-60 time. For maybe 50 feet sure, but see what happens after that...
The RS2 was 13.1 to 100mph which, although still quick, is nothing special nowadays. 315bhp for the record.

Did you see the Ken Block vs Hamilton thing they did in Barbados. They said on paper it would be close but in reality the F1 car looked so much quicker.

For all you Dads and Disney 'Cars' fans........just seen the Hudson Hornet heading Northbound on the A46 at the Kenilworth turn-off. Black not Blue but nonetheless.......... And the Nello household welcomed this bad boy for a few hours the other day: Latest Rapide S - 6.0 litres of V12 heaven - noise was immense in Sport mode when you open the throttle. They are a massive car but manage to feel half the size at pace thanks to the balance and handling. My boys loved the rear TV's. 550 BHP never felt sooo good. Mind you I hit 7.9 MPG at one point........... Oh and I know this is mega money but Wow, Wow and Wow again.... Multipla Uber rare and 6k from new....

Couple of Bentleys inc. a Flying Spur, a Granturismo, x2 458 Italias, an F12 Berlinetta and an Arab registered Burgundy Aventador in a mad 20 minutes walking from Pimlico to Harrods last Tuesday (where I then 'spotted' Martin Brundle and Claudia Schiffer!!!)

Had a little back and forth with an E30 M3 last week between Heathrow and Chiswick. Aside from the exhaust-stained rear valance it looked very mint. And a great sound on that stretch under the flyover.

I test drove a tesla model S in Amsterdam earlier this year (their European headquarters is over there). Fantastic car and seriously quick! For an EV it also has very good range.

I saw a Tesla Model S on the M20 today. Couldn't work out what it was until I looked up the Tesla logo.
Kind of a sort of large Jag and Maserati cross.... With a bit of typical wierd American design for good measure.
The performance stats are impressive too. I spotted one of these in Bristol the other week too. I too was hunting for a badge to identify it - I had no idea Tesla had produced a car of this type... Also spotted a Lancia Stratos on the M4 on the way home on the same day
