Big win for south africa in the rugby sevens Was at the evening session of this at the home of Glasgow Rangers, good atmosphere and an interesting range of results although we left an hour early to avoid the insane cramming onto every turning wheel. England undeservedly scraped two wins over Scotland and Wales. Trinidad and Tobago completely minced by the diminutive Sri Lankans who outstripped their lumbering opponents. NZ always good to watch but SA were on a roll. I sat next to an English guy who took up a seat and a half, not funny when they're only 14" across at best Thankfully (and unusually) the sun wasn't baking down all day so the seats we had 2nd row from the very back in the highest part of the stadium, even though they trapped all the rising heat under the roof, weren't too sweltering. Seems like many buses have been shipped up from London, several double-deckers including the free shuttle I was on sporting LT roundels and Oyster card notices.

I was at the Opening Ceremony and at Hampden yesterday for athletics. Saw shuttle buses from Cambridge, Belfast, Oxford and London. Waited far too long for shuttle bus after the opening ceremony. Just used the Local buses yesterday which are free with your games ticket and much more relaxed and enjoyable and filled with helpful local people. The local bus got far closer to the venues than the shuttle buses which dump you well away from the venue. These venues are filled regularly outwith the games and I've never had any problem getting to and from them using local transpot or by car. Lots of stories complaints from other people over the official parking and transport options. Off to Hampden tomorrow night to Hopefully see Eilidh Child get a Medal

I've no problem with the Medal count when you take into account the population sizes Possum Real Medal Table The games don't do anything positive for my economy as tickets alone have cost us £1720 so far On the other hand the annual Edinburgh Festival is about to start and that brings in way more money than the Commonwealth Games will and it will have a direct effect on my economy and help pay for these games tickets. Enjoy the Games when they get to you again Possum

Dare I mention the medal count!!! Probably shouldn't have done As for the REAL medal table.... Firstly it only counts gold medals And secondly each country is limited, equally, to the number of competitors they can submit for each sport. If the numbers of participants for each sport were allocated pro-rata to population size, then a table such as this would probably read quite differently.
Gone Audi mad!
