We had P6000s on the Leon Cupra. They seemed ok at the time. They were fitted to loads of powerful cars back in the day.

It was p-zeros on my coupe when it was new in '99. Guess they changed from the P6000's at some point.

I'll tell you this - they were rubbish in three feet of snow! I had to dig myself out of a flat car park in Portree, in the winter of '95, when the car was a month old...

I've had P7's on mine with no troubles. Are the P6000's a little old now?

I think it's down to the weight of the car with these tyres as I know a chap who runs an old Jag who swears by them, he still says they're lively in the wet but I think that's more to do with his driving style though.

Another vote against P6000s - when I first got my Coupe, it had Contis on the front and P6000s on the back, resulting in a nasty lift-off oversteer moment. The tyre fitter who replaced them pointed out how the tread blocks wore unevenly, making the tyre threepenny-bit shaped, for those old enough to know what I mean. He had the same very low opinion of them.

The left one looks like it has no valve stem, so is inflated with magic gas???

P6000s were a Jag favourite fit, especially in the UK. There was a P6000 version tuned for jaguar, but for which Jaguar is anybody's guess! Those who were able to look further than "must fit the same as original tyres" also found much better alternatives.

Pirelli P6s, P7s and P-Zeros still seem to perform well in tests. We have P6s on the wife's (non-turbo) Impreza and they are very good in the wet and dry. It was a German test winner a couple of years ago.

Wow wow wow

It's amazing how a post can go off on a tangent, I originally posted regarding the wheels not the tyres, ( although still a great read) )
using a bit of imagination the clue is in my my second post as to the titles original meaning,

I think Nismo got it,

Brilliant laugh
