You might have seen today the most recent hostage being paraded by the IS, John Cantlie. I only mention it as I have a strong feeling he used to post on here. In fact I'm fairly sure I have met the guy, although I can't place when/where. I seem to recall some fairly strong opinions being shared at the time over the Coupe.
He also used to write for Superbike magazine under the nickname "Sonic".
Terrible situation for him his family, and all the other hostages as well. Difficult to see anything other than one outcome. Just adds that extra little twist when you actually know who the person in the video is.

On the other side we now have the IS equivalent resurgence in the UK under the 'far right' banner.....

On the other side we now have the IS equivalent resurgence in the UK under the 'far right' banner..... I've not heard of any beheadings being carried out here in the UK recently. Care to expand on your strange comment?

You are correct Cappo, we do have a member of that name on the forum although he hasn't been on here since 2007. His forum name is Dago_Red and shows his profession as being a journalist. It does look as though he may be the same man.

He says one group member told him he would like to implement death camps in the UK.
"When I asked who he would like to put in the death camps, he just listed everyone that he didn't see as white British," he added. He says once young members sign up groups urge them to take on an active role.
"There are books that are available on the internet that you're encouraged to read," he says, "you'll then be questioned on your knowledge."
Asked what the books are about, he replies: "How to disable somebody and how to basically kill people." Agree the comments are pretty distasteful but they're a long way off the atrocities being carried out by IS in the Middle East.

We have a high population of Muslims and sadly a strength of Far right activists. These people are becoming more active and again now have influence given the Rotherham scandal and these beheadings. How are these people not the same as IS? They share the same values / ideologies after all. Now I want you to justify: 1) why my comment was strange 2) why someone needs to be decapitated in the UK

However I do agree they (IS and the UK Far Right) probably do share the same warped values/ideologies. However, I think at the moment that is where the similarities end.
