I am intrested to buy a coupe, I have a bit of a conundrum LE or PLUS? Either of these I am intrested in.
I put the question to the massive knowledgeable members and forum participants Fccuk.
PROS & CONS!

Thanks 🆘

Mark you are going to open a can of worms asking a Q. Like that! wink

It's all down to personal preference.

LE's came in some alternative colours not available to other Coupe models
LE's have a distinctly different interior (noticable at 10 paces)
LE's were the first to have body kits and a strut-brace
LE's were the first to have a starter button
LE's were the first to have a 6 speed gearbox
LE's were numbered, Plus's are not

You have to understand that the there are plenty of differences and some will argue until the cows come home as to which is better than the other. You just have to choose and enjoy smile

Thanks Pondman, not so sure about the red bits in the interior, I will have to compare the two models in the flesh.
But I also like the idea of a id tag which gives the car authenticity.
So much to like. 😛

A 20VT with a six speed gearbox. One of the final models.

16VT and X1/9 1500

We must all do our part for the planet.
I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using.

Thanks PeteP would that have been built in 2000? Or production in 1999?

All the 20vt's had 6 speed gearboxes from late '99, as well as the push button start, body coloured sills, white dials etc.

If you aren't sure about the red trim then I would go for the Plus. The LE interior is marmite and if you're unsure now then I'd go for the more grown up Plus. All the same features as the LE, just a little easier on the eye.

If they did a sprint blue LE I'd have one but I'm still 50/50 on the interior, personally I'm as happy with my Plus as Pondman is with his LE! smile

I found this a hard decision to make, so bought a standard 20VT laugh

I love all the Titanium coloured bits an an LE and even the red seat belts, but not keen on the red and black seats, although the LE seats are a lot nicer and more comfortable than Plus seats.

I love the Plus wheels and prefer the silver push button start and dials.

My favourite Plus colour is Electric Blue, but I would take the solid Black LE colour over anything that's not Sprint Blue laugh

My idea Coupe would be a Sprint Blue LE (if they existed) or a Black LE, but without the red on the seats, with the Plus's push button start, silver dials and wheels laugh

Thank you all for the input you have given me I suppose it will come down to the car as a whole, engine, bodywork ect, in all they are fantastic cars and in the near future I will be happy to own such a rare modern classic.
But in the mean time I will swat up on the vast information that is on here.

Thanks all.

Going off thread slightly are there more Plus or LE models out there?????

Looking at the register for both it seems there's more LE models. If so the model to go for would be ........

There does seem that there are more LE's than Plus' If the reg checker is to be believed, they do outnumber them by quite a few. But, and it is a big but! a lot of Plus' and LE's are not correctly registeted on thier V5 Doc. So this is not an accurate way to assess numbers. Also, the LE register has been going for a lot longer than the Plus list and it is really only UK based wink

LE is the adolescent teenager

Plus has slightly matured with a more reserved/refined dress code!

Well that is my take on it!

I would love either but if i was honest, i would prefer the numbered models of the LE but with the Plus interior and front grill! nothing to do with the fact i have a plus interior and front grill though!! honest

Theresa i didnt realise the Plus and LE seats were physically different thought it was just the finish!
My plus seats seem to squeak quite a bit which is annoying hope they will settle down! frown

It dose seems an impossible task to ascertain the true number of Plus vehicles produced. Unless someone out there has this info in their pocket.

So far I have come across 2 versions of the Plus seat, one seems to be wider than the other.
