had a great day at the Birmingham NEC for the classic car show yesterday, loads of rare cars and probably a lot that hasn't seen the road for quite some time, but was a Little upset to see that there's wasn't ONE fiat coupe in the building. Now i know there not considered as a genuine classic car yet, was I expecting too much to see one on show?

I was there yesterday. Seeing some of the cars there, the Coupe could more than hold it's head up high. If we did do it though, I think only the best examples should be shown. My TR6 although not standard, so not suitable for showing is better than most I saw yesterday. I was totally gutted to see a yellow 128 3P on display which I bottled on buying on ebay on the FIAT stand. It was immaculate, and I feel a right for not bidding.

Yeah I'd agree with that roadking, although would be great having mine on display but it's not in a condition worthy to show for the coupe status. One bit that did make me chuckle was that my friend has a type r civic which costs more to tax than the Ferrari f40 that were on show he didn't like that lol

I was there on Saturday too with a mate (bikenut on the forum)! I think we managed to do about 2/3 of the show properly in the 5.5 hours we were there. It was a great show though, I'll definitely go back next year. I got chatting to the guy sat on the Auto Italia stand, who turned out to be Phil Ward, the editor. I started off by having a moan that there were no Coupes on show and it turns out his mum is currently on her 4th I definitely think we should try to get at least 1 Coupe on show next year!

Would like to have gone. AROC have asked for my 155 Q4 to be on the AROC stand several times, but each time, it is such a pain to get the car there on a Thu after work from Cambridge, get it onto the stand, and then find a way home with enough time to sleep before school the next day.

If you're reading this Jeremy - how did you do in the judging? Possibly the most nerve-wracking 20 minutes of my life! Didn't get to find out my score (none of us did) but I didn't win the overall Meguiar's Showcase prize, not that I expect to - just to be invited by them was an honour. They really looked after us too. The car on the stand on Thursday (setup day): Lots & lots of compliments throughout the show and several offers to buy but I'm turned them all down of course. I was one of three Meguiar's Showcase cars selected to be interviewed by Mike Brewer about the car yesterday which was the icing on the cake for me & a highly enjoyable 5 minutes of fame Back to obscurity now...

That Uno looks stunning - makes me wonder how good the winner was! if its not too personal - what kind of offers were you turning down - be interesting to see what a mint Uno is worth nowadays - I'm guessing it would be nudging towards five figures? I was thinking about going, but needed to prep for a meeting on Monday - just as well I didn't go, as the prep took all day Seems I missed a good show

That Uno looks stunning - makes me wonder how good the winner was! It was a 1969 Ford Cortina 1600E and it was exceptional - I marked it as a winner as soon as I saw it! if its not too personal - what kind of offers were you turning down - be interesting to see what a mint Uno is worth nowadays - I'm guessing it would be nudging towards five figures? Offers ranged from £6k to £10k. One guy got quite arsey with me when I said "no, it's not for sale"...in his world everything has its price I guess?!

I remember getting similarly arsey with a chap that refused to sell me his Pearl White Plus - I really fancied it, but he wasn't letting go at any price.... has Mike Brewer eaten all the pies? Seems he's the exact opposite of Edd China.....

Jas, I saw him at the show. He's obviously not afraid to take on the odd pie!
