Hello Barnacle,

The engine bay is on standard shape. Not an exhibition car.
Modest and economic restoration to bring this junkyard car back to the dignity it deserves.
Now it's parked on my garage aside my 6 Classic and preclassic Bmw...

Regards
Antonio

Quite right too. I'll be putting my engine back together this weekend, with a little luck. Still needs some welding and tidying of the engine bay, though.

Also restoring yours? Very good.
If it's a matter of luck... Good luck!!!

I already removed some of the engines of my Classic BMW's to restore them. In 2006, 3 weeks before my departure to Germany with my bmw 2002 from 74 (same age as myself), to partcipate on the bavaria tour 06, the engine was completely in pieces on the bench. Some of my adventure partners were convinced that I'll not manage to go with that car...

Great job you have done with this car and in such a short time.
I do like under bonnet bling but your car looks fine to me, except those two rusty washers at the front of engine bay.
I`m just kidding.

Been an ongoing procedure, Antonio - check the 'olde original 16V' thread in Projeccts.

Congratulations on a great job.

Perhaps under the bonnet, you could repaint the blue Fiat 16v Turbo. I did mine using a blue Ford engine spray can. Just masked up all the unwanted depressions and sprayed then wiped off the excess with some thinners on the flat parts which left the blue Fiat bits looking good.
