Zender abs vs autods grp #152098

Hi i am thinking of fitting a set of side skirts and possibly new bumbers to my 20vt. I have looked at a Zender abs plastic kit and at the autoDS GRP kits available. Has anyone had experience of either and which would be best. I like the style of both but i am a little worried that GRP would crack a lot easier than abs plastic.

Hi mate,

I'm not sure about how easy the grp would crack but i can vouch for Mariusz quality.

I recently bought the skirts with an air inlet in them from him.

They arrived yesterday and are top notch!!

I got him to paint them, they are exectly the same colour as the car and they fit perfectly too.

I was apprehensive of him sending painted skirts in the post but they were well wrapped and arrived in perfect order!!

Mariusz was a very helpful guy. Skirts arrived when he said and were of the quality he spoke of.

Sounds good, there seems to be a lot of good reports about autoDS. If you don't mind how much did you pay for the skirts painted with delivery?

Autods kit is good quality, but my front cadamuro bumper - from autods cracked fairly easily when i went over a speed ramp. I would prefer abs for the front bumper though as its a bit more tough.

abs is always going to be better than grp - but I have mariusz's front LE lips and they have been scrapped a few times and they are pretty tough.

abs is also easier to fit as it bends. are you fitting the stuff yourself?

It really comes down to cost - if you have a colour that is easy to match, i.e. Green / elec. blue then you save a load by ordering from Mariusz pre-sprayed. Fitting yourself is not easy though....

Think the lesson to be learned is not to attempt spped humps with an aftermarket bumper. I had a Calibra dropped about 70mm with a very Low Reiger front end on and speed bumps were a big No NO. Sometimes even going up/down hills or ramps caused a wee scrape.

I would have to plan routes very carefully to avoid humps.

Had the bumper for 2 years and cracked it 3 times. Fiberglass is easier and cheaper to work with when broken than plastic.

Makes your car look tip top but there is a price to pay!!

Cada bumper is very low, Zender not.. you have to be careful.. AutoDS gives special construction on the bottom part of the bumpers, but if you will hit strongly.. you will damage abs even. I have on my coop Cada bumper above one year (with suspension -40mm) have been scrapped many times, only vanish is demaged ..but no cracks of bumper

Thanks guys lots of good info. I have decided to go for a set of LE side skirts, front lips and a zender rear lip. All quite understated but i'm not really into the Max'd look, although i have got a twin exit exhaust coming, will post pictures when fitted.

I have a Autods Cadamuro kit itted to my car and its lowered on Coilovers. I have scraped the bottom of the front bumper many times but it has not cracked . My bodyshop made me up a couple of brackets that gives a lot of extra support to the bumper.
