Anyone got them?

Think so too. Got them on my Alfa (original Alfa Ti, produced by Toora but Alfa TI logo on the rim and no 'Toora' on them other than the backside). In fact I've also got 4 replica Ti wheels (China) that I might be selling soon.

pictures on the right (wait for them to load).

I've never even contemplated getting new wheels (apart from some Plus wheels) for the coop. They look nice on your Alfa.

They are very tempting.

They're not cheap. Genuine alfa come at £400. A piece. Still... as said, I might put my replica's up for sale. Cost me £650, will be going for £450 (as new, no damage at all and pictures will be provided). You'll need Alfa hubs though. Weight is 8.9kg a piece.

I'm sure you wont have any trouble selling them. If I ever did put aftermarket wheels on the car, it would definately need an LE kit. I'm totally standard.

brilliant Kayjey, those dare v2's look perfect for the coupe now i can see them on the car.

Yeah those Dare V2 I would love for my car aswell!

Anyone know if there are 4-bolt verisions of them, and if they cause any problems with the brembo breaks?

I was thinking about this superb application last night in bed and wondered, would it be possible to expand it:

1) Choose the car colour (originals and others)
2) Choose the Wheels (Already done)
3) Choose the Body kit (standard, skirts, bumper etc)
4) Choose the angle (Front, Side, rear, Top)
5) Choose Level of chav, bling and stickers (only kidding on this one !!) laugh
6) Choose Ride height
7) Display and Print

I have spent ages playing with colours and wheels just to see what I like, it's great fun - If it could be expanded as above with the option to print, It would help people decide before they spend cash what they like best and provide us with lots of great images.

It would also be great to print the ones we like to stick around the house and office.

Maybe we could even do a line in Coupe Birthday and Christmas cards. xmas

I have no idea how many hours you have already spent doing the wheels, and don't know how long this would take, but just an idea idea

Hey Mr. Tickle!

Car colour: already done. Just check out the grey box next to the wheels.

Choose the Body kit... Could be done. I would require a good full side-on picture of a standard car. Oh and I would have to create all the colour images and so on.

Choose the angle... would require extensive photography of all wheels and cars in exactly the same positions.

Skipping the chav one. wink

Choose Ride height: that would actually be a tiny bit easier. But still a big job since I didn't plan for it.

Display and Print: as the current application uses layered images together with some javascript and CSS trickery to enable transparent wheel images on IE6 and IE5 (wow!) I would suggest you to take a printscreen. Also the quality wouldn't be that great.

All in all, I've never seen an application that would allow all these things. I'm a project manager in a communication / advertising company and we actually do these kinds of things. If I were to work this out, I would say: we're going to do this entirely in 3D models (models of cars and wheels and body kits), with colour swatches to choose from (for cars and wheels), reflectivity (cause you'll be wanting matte paing schemes to select from), special selectable paint jobs / striping,...

All in all I that would probably get a developer and modeller going for a total time of a month or four-five. For which I'd charge you at least € 150k depending on number of wheels etc.

If we'd want to work with photographs of cars and wheels, I'd have to hire a studio and get all the wheels in the correct position. Still, we wouldn't be able to get all the wheels together, so some would have to be modified from the web (almost impossible as these images are not 3D) or model the wheels in 3D (photographic quality - nice). Probably end up with even more money, and almost impossible to get all kit together (body kits,...).

Again you'd be charged at least 150k.

Just to say: once you start playing with this and you want to make it a NICE, viable, quality application, we are talking budgets and technology that is affordable if you're doing a commercial action. Cause you're going to advertise on it (spending probably € 1,5M on advertising) and then selling like crazy.

So really... you're talking about a tool that is as advanced as the 'garage' you see in for example Grand Turismo, where you select a car, the colour,... For which the development costed a lot more than what I just quickly quoted (and I'm talking just the 'garage' part).

So yes - you really 'tickled' my imagination. But I guess we can just stick with what we have now (although including some standard car pictures without body kits might be nice and is perfectly feasible) and leave the rest to our imagination.

wink smile

All in all, I remember one thing from this. Maybe it would be nice to build a reference picture guide to the bodykits available for the Coupe. Some kind of catalog of tuning parts and styling / handling mods. A visual reference. For this, we wouldn't need something really fancy - we'd have to only collect the available pictures and compile them together in a book / PDF...

The only shame with the dare v2 alloys i asked to be added is i cant find them anywhere in 18" but i know they used to make them, so its a bit of a dream being able to see them in 18" but unfortunately no one will get them, unless any ne knows of a place they can find them.

Okay.

I have been filling my time before my new appointment in Banbury with some temporary work, which involves working on, and driving, new un-registered cars for various marques including Fiat and Alfa, around the docks at Portbury, Bristol.

As well as having a bit of fun with the driving (those 500 Abarth's are quite fun and nippy, that'll be the running in done for someone then tongue ) I couldnt help noticing how some of the alloys on new models may suit the coupe, and know that people have put on stilo abarth alloys, and know that some of you have the alfa hub conversion.

so, if you'd like to add these to the tool kayjey (sorry if the photos arent 100% straight on - security get a bit suspicious of temp staff walking around taking photos lol)

Hey Owl,

I reeally need pictures of the wheels dead-on, and preferably the name of the rims. I'm sure however I'm able to find some of these online. I'm waiting for your feedback, but should be able to post a few up before the weekend. I'm now just 2 weeks into running my own company, so excuse the slowness on my behalf...

okay, ill try to get better angles next time im in the fiat & alfa compounds, however im off work for a while. As to the name of the rims, i think here they are just referred to as style xx or something, so may not be much use.

No rush at all, i was just bored at work and thinking "Hmmm... wonder how those would look...." as you do!

if it helps, in order, they are from the various models...

500 abarth
Alfa Mito
Alfa 159 ti
Fiat Punto
Alfa GT
Punto Abarth
500 Abarth

Hi Kayjey,

Thank you for this very slick application!
Will all these wheels actually fit without any modifications? I note you mentioned in an earlier response putting Alfa hubs on, presumably the Brembos will have to go too...?

Many thanks,
Benners
