Hi all, I'm getting really bad mpg's my 150 t-jet, please can anyone help it's costing quite a bit nowadays. The last £25 quid we put in only gave around 30 miles back, I don't really trust the dash readout but on light acceleration and changing gear before I hit 2000 revs it's still showing instant consumption to be 11.3mpg it had a service 6 week ago at fiat where they checked it over and told me everything looked find there were no codes to be read. Once up to 30 and 40 on the roads it still shows around 30mpg and that's in 6th gear.
Can anyone shed any light please it's a 58 plate with 61k

Never thought to check the battery, checked all the other stuff plus with the recent service all is well (or supposed to be) thought about maf and lambda but wouldn't these flag up on the diagnostic? Been using the millers petrol treatment for the past couple of tanks but doesn't seem to have had no effect.

Don't trust because it's serviced it's ok. It's obviously not!!
Battery and low voltage can cause issues.
Maf and lambda can be bad, but not out of range so they don't throw a code. I have a 1.6 multijet diesel and when I spoke to a local indy he was telling me all sorts of sequences and ways things have to be done to get these things to work right. Maybe that's just the diesels!

Hopefully can find a solution soon cheers for the advice, I'll do the brim the tank scenario too as like I said early I don't really trust the read out from the dash but I know it's using too much fuel.

Also check for sticking calipers. One sticking caliper on the wife's Impreza, the effects of which you could hardly feel when driving, used 15-20% more fuel.
