Has anyone removed threre balance shafts on there 20vt?
I'm
Going fully balanced bottom end and I know the 16v boys do away with it.
Any help would be appreciated, I've scoured the forum but not a lot has come of it

On the 16 the balance shafts are externally belt driven so are relatively easy to "remove", whereas on the 20 the single shaft is internally chain and gear driven via the oil pump, so much more difficult to "remove".

So it's more difficult and gives less benefit on the 20's hence hardly anyone has bothered.
