Or at least, all round the bottom left hand corner of the M25 this morning - herds and herds of the little devils - proper minis, of course, none of this recent German rubbish impersonators.

They were all going the other way when I came back at half six this evening, though sadly a couple were perched rather forlornly on the hard shoulder.

I assume some sort of meet...

How could there be herds and herds if it was a mini meet?

Perhaps it was a maxi meet of minis?

<google google>

Looks like it was the Mini London-Brighton run.

I saw quite a few too on the M40. Also saw dozens of sports cars heading north on some sort of cannonball run type meet (stickers, high speed etc..)

We drove in our (apparently rubbish) Mini from Stroud to Sheffield and back and saw... nothing of note. Except possibly, my friend's TVR Chimaera on his drive.

Luckily, Sheffield is still the best city anywhere, ever, so it didn't matter.

Nothing wrong with yours, Jim - it's just that it's not a mini, in spite of the label.

Well, they were your words, Neil!

As impersonators go, I think the earlier "new" Minis were a pretty good update of the original shape, if not the clever design or innovative concept.

The more recent iterations have become appalling parodies.

My daily runner is a 2004 Mini Cooper s, quite fun to drive and reliable .......so far.
I've heard there can be some 'heated' discussions between the original mini owners and the latest mini owners.

It was London to Brighton. Thousands of minis.
