After numerous threats to free myself of my favourite toy, mothballing it for over a year, countless arguments with myself and thoughts of guilt. The time has come for me to stick to a decision.
It pains me to say that the coupé will be broken and all spare parts/toys etc shall start appearing in the 'For Sale' section, so keep your eyes out.
I just can't justify holding onto her any longer as life moves forward.
A massive thank you to all on here as your wisdom has played a helping hand in keeping her in my possession and ticking over nicely. Joe, thanks for all you've done to keep her up together. Much appreciated. laugh Also met plenty of helpful friendly faces. Thanks for your help guys. You know who are.
I shall still be lurking in the shadows here and hopefully when life has straightened out a bit I'll be back cool

You wouldn't believe the expense involved with 'beard maintenance' .All the shampoos, conditioners, oils, combs and brushes crazy

Finally gotten round to prepping the old girl up ready for a turnover and a damn good clean after 20 months off the road without being started.
Checked the belts, topped up the fluids, charged battery and turned her over by hand...put key in ignition....LIFE!!!
Started straight away with no issues.Idles beautifully, although quite tappety. So new oil will be going in and compression test will follow to prove she's still a strong old girl and then the process of deciding whether or not to keep her or break her.Even after 20 months I'm still undecided!

Can't you sell it as a complete car? I hate to hear of one being broken.

Can you just keep it somewhere nice and dry and start her up now and then!

Would be nice to keep her now you've spent all this time and effort and at least you know the car and may even appreciate in value smile

Beard maintenance is a lot easier with just shaving foam and a razor.

Save all that money from shampoos, conditioners, oils, combs and brushes and put it to wait towards the Coupe, you know it makes sense!

Ultimately, there's a question over whether or not the chassis is bent. It was a Cat D (front end) long before I got her and had a poor repair job. Which became obvious once I started modding her. With the help of Joe at FCSS a lot of this was rectified. and then as the modding continued her the N/S front wheel has shown more and more positive camber. Clearly some thing's not right. evil
Various ideas have been put forward from having a bent chassis to knackered top mount and also a bent subframe..Unfortunately I don't have the money to get this looked at as my biggest priority right now is saving for my first house and moving on in life. crazy

Obviously knowing this, the decision to buy as a whole is less appealing for any new potential owner. Unless they're happy to do so for whatever reason..perhaps a swap of engine and all mods into a new shell. Hence why I may break it, unless someone wants to take her off my hands for the right price! tongue
I myself hate seeing these cars broken, but sometimes things are that bad that they have to be. At least by breaking, the parts can help to maintain other cars and keep them going.

Don't fret though! I am toying with the idea of getting her T/T'd and insured for a short while.Just so I can enjoy her a little more before I finally decide.

You could start a riot with those ideas Dave! Shave?! shocked
