Oh Thanks anyway, as you say, unless it's on retention then AFAIK you can't transfer the plate from a non-MOTd car anyway.

Yes that's right, you'd need a valid MOT to transfer the plate so the vehicle must still be alive somewhere, just forgotten about un'SORN.
