The trip to Bristol today ended in disaster - smashed passenger window and some stuff taken - including a pair of prescription glasses which will be no use to anybody but me! The car next to us had the same window damage and two slashed tyres. We were in an NCP carpark which you would think would be safe enough. We drove home really freezing with the window missing. And Autoglass can't come out until 16th June, and that's just to do a temporary perspex repair while the window is on order.

Annie - if you can get to Birmingham, you can have the glass out of one of my passenger doors (or you can take the whole door and extract the glass at your leisure) - I have a couple of doors with damage, so I'm never going to sell them

I may even have some loose glass around, but I'd need to charge for that, as someone has spent time removing it from a door

Let me know if I can help

Thanks Nigel for the offer, but my insurance covers the glass replacement. I might be in touch if Autoglass has problems getting the window though.

Thanks everyone for your sympathetic messages - makes me feel a lot better!

The police are going to see if there is anyone caught on the CCTV.

I the meantime, Coupe looks really sorry for itself with a binbag stuck over the glassless window!

Sorry to hear this AnnieMac, I had a similar problem a few years ago.

Well, as I expected, Autoglass was not able to get a replacement window, so I have bought the one on eBay which you kindly pointed out. So thanks for that, not bad at £30 including delivery. Now I am just waiting to hear if Autoglass will still fit it. I do actually have another Coupe on my driveway which I could have used the window from, but I'd rather keep that one complete if I can, as I hope to get it back on the road one of these days ...
