Well that's the end of that. 10 minutes of super hail storm at 11.30 last night has turned her into a golf ball.... Can't even face taking pictures.

There must be 40+ dents in the bonnet, another 20 in the roof. Boot lid has a few. Brothers Megane f1 is a similar mess.
Properly gutted, just shy of 6 years of ownership. Wouldn't care but I'm in the process of moving house so have a respray value in cash tied up in stamp duty....

My step-brother lives near Brisbane, Aus, and pock marked cars are driven about as the norm.
As a resident of Brisbane, the pockmarked cars are becoming less as the Insurance Companies/repairers are catching up with the work created last November when several suburbs were hit with a really bad hail storm. Some roofs of houses are still to be repaired. I feel for you BM, as we often have severe hail storms here, but I have been lucky an always managed to have my cars under cover. There have also been a few bargains to had with some people purchasing "repairable write-off" vehicles.

Gutted for you I think it was Nigel that had the same happen to him a few years ago Well remembered... 12 June 2006 - approx 150-200 dents - mostly on the roof and bonnet, but even the doors and rear quarters were damaged where hailstones had bounced off adjacent cars

Terrible news Big Muzzie.
Living just a few miles from you I'm surprised it didn't happen to mine either. I stood there watching the electrical storm not realising hail could have fallen.

Terrible news, I saw a few photos and thought there might be a few get caught out by it, what a pointless way for a car to go I hope the insurance cover it.

Sounds awful, and I wasn't aware that that sort of thing happened in the UK, hailstones yes, but not enough to damage a car so badly.
I'm not sure if it's possible, as I don't know how severe the dents are, but couldn't a dent removal company help?
I had a number of dents, small to medium size on my coupe when I bought it. The drivers door was the worst, with 20+ ripples/dents along it. A local dent removal firm assessed the work, and did the entire car in an hour or so for £100, including ones I hadn't initially spotted. I'd definately call them out for a quote, it costs you nothing, even if you don't think it's possible, it's amazing what they can do.

Sounds awful, and I wasn't aware that that sort of thing happened in the UK, hailstones yes, but not enough to damage a car so badly. The ones that did my car were golf-ball sized - the hailstorm stripped all the leaves off a fully mature tree outside my office window in less than three minutes Imagine a million golf balls being tipped out of the back of a plane at 20,000 feet - you really wouldn't want to be on the ground when they arrived..... Muzzie - the insurance company will probably try to worm out of it initially, claiming "act of God" or something similar - I probably have some of my response letters if you need some wording to help a claim

Yeah golf ball / tennis ball!!
Insurance would repair but at the cost I suspect to repair it's a write off.
Think I'm going to get an xfr once I've moved and the coupe can slowly be fixed....
Thanks for the kind words! I'm truly gutted still.
