Around 4 weeks ago Mrs. Jimbob's iphone 5c went kerflooey.
It was getting down to about 30 - 40% battery life then switching itself off, so we had a new battery fitted. This has unfortunately made no difference.

It has been slowly getting worse and the phone now switches off as soon as it's taken off charge.

It has since been reset and restored, then when that did nothing, reset to new.
The new battery has been tested and is apparently fine.
We've tried it with my charger too, just to rule that out.

The folk at our local Apple place couldn't have been any less helpful if they had dug a moat to keep us out, due to the phone being over a year old. and the Applecare folk that they got Mrs. Jimbob to phone said they'd charge £206 just to look at it.

Does anyone have any other ideas, before we have to bite the bullet and pay £160 for an early upgrade?

Any advice appreciated.

Take it back to the place that did the battery? depending on what was said they didn't fix the fault.

O2 refresh at the moment played right you can get an iphone 5c 8gb for £129. Refurb but as apple refurbs usually are appear new with warranty.
Sell yours for 50-80 spares and repairs on ebay and your away.

You have done everything i would typically attempt before getting rid.

Now, that would be dishonest. wink

Anyway, I opened up the phone myself last night (no idea what I expected to see/do) and it would appear that one of the little plugs inside may have been loose, as after wiggling various plugs, tightening screws etc. the phone seems to be working again. Fingers crossed it lasts.

Thanks to those who posted. smile
