Grandson we've just been visiting in US is coming over for Christmas when he'll be 8 months so he'll need a rear-facing carseat.

As I understand it most cars from about 2007 are supplied with Isofix points which I guess rules out my '96 model.

What do folk do with coupes?

I used this one. Its on to its second baby now.

If you go to places like kiddicare or babies r us, they will let you try them in your car for suitability before you buy them.

I've had a Maxi Cosi Cabriofix car seat in my Coupe which is a common car seat and fits on loads of pushchairs to make a travel system.

Also had a Graco one in the Coupe too. most will fit in the Coupe without a problem, but my daughter informs me that the Maxi Cosi is one of the more common and better ones.

My daughter thought the info was for someone who has a Coupe and the wife/girlfriend was expecting a baby, so she's gone on to inform me that the Maxi Cosi Cabriofix has a small storage compartment at the back and that you can also get raincovers and footmuffs for it too laugh

The info is handy for anyone that needs it (saves selling the Coupe if the info helps) laugh

Cheers for this smile It appears that they'll bring the car seat without the base and it will just secure in the coupe with seatbelts.

The issue is picking them up from the airport with luggage and buggy... chinny

Shame you not closer, you could of had use of my roof rack. A buggy might be ok on it.

When my Coupe was originally registered here in Australia 10 years ago, it had to have 2 fittings that takes the "dog lead" type clip on the child seat fitted to the rear parcel shelf.

Scuderia also had to get that fitted when he brought his in from New Zealand.

It works fine when I have had a grandchild in the back.

Simon - not perhaps the *safest* option but there is an exemption from the child seat regulations for a taxi returning from an airport (which wouldn't apply to you, but to a formal taxi.)

I have a silver cross baby seat that secures with seat belts. It's a tight fit with the belt but that's how they are supposed to be. If you have leather you may want to put a small blanket or something in-between the bottom of the baby seat and the leather car seat to prevent rubbing on the back section. The buggy should fit in the boot no problem but you may have fun with all the luggage & family!

Good call smile

The seat is from the US and pretty all-singing so I'm sure it'll be fine.

I know this might sound daft but make sure they (or you) know how to secure the seat properly using a belt. Possible they haven't done so given the drop-and-click simplicity of Isofix. YouTube likely has an installation demo if you know which seat they have.
If you need any extra luggage carrying capacity I'll be happy to help. I should be in UK 16th December onwards. smile
