Is anyone following this?
It is a thriller this year - I thought it would be Froome/Quintana but there are some new people like Esteban Chaves and Tom Dumoulin. Every day has a surprise and there are some brutal climbs tomorrow.
ITV4 7pm or you can use ITV player to play the highlights when it suits you. https://www.itv.com/itvplayer/itv4

Big question - who's going to win the GC? Place your bets...

I've caught some of this and, I'd agree, some less predictable names - great.

Yes I'm following it, been a good start.

Very early days as they've not hit the proper mountains yet. The type of finishes they've had so far are more suited to the likes of Rodriguez and Valverde. I think once they're into the high mountains the likes of Froome, Quintana and maybe TJ will come into their own.

Chaves has ridden very well so far but he doesn't have a team equipped for high mountains. He'll have to fly solo. Be interesting to see how he gets on today.

Wednesdays stage is a brute. There's one cat 2, four cat 1 and one out of category climb ooo

Dimoulin will be half an hour off the lead after that......

Todays stage with a Cat 1 to finish on, should see the GC contenders showing their hands.

As for the overall, Heart says Froome but head is saying Quintana.

Well and truly eating my hat now blush

Dumoulin has been a revelation. How someone so big can climb like he's done is amazing. I really hope the mutterings on Social Media are unfounded....

Chaves has also been outstanding too. He's not had the team mates to help him like Aru, Rodriguez, Valverde/Quintana and before he fell off, Froome, but has managed to cover the majority of moves and keep within touching distance of the Red Jersey.

Time Trial tomorrow where Dumoulin should retake the Jersey. Whether he can hold on to it will be very interesting to watch.

'Dumoulin has been a revelation. How someone so big can climb like he's done is amazing'

I think the history of the sport could shed some light on how that is possible tongue
