Did your old neighbours complain about recurring dreams of always seeing different coloured coupes parked in your front garden? You're right the chat has cooled down a bit but now you're back I daresay some happy mud-slinging would warm things up again Looks a great find though, where did you see it advertised?

My old neighbours actually took time to discuss each car, I think secretly they wanted one!! Though they probably got a little freaked out by my incessant wandering around looking at them late at night.... I can imagine the conversation. "Hey, honey, he's out there again just staring at them, weirdo!"
I found this on a Facebook group, it took some time to sell actually, I think I was lucky, especially at the price paid from what he was asking. Now it seems everyone is taking more interest. You snooze you lose! Saying this, it'll end up a fair price being paid out in the end; once things are made to my taste.

Hahahahaha! That really made me 'lol' - Funny that not too many people use lol anymore. The world has moved on from lol. I can't divulge that information JKD, my wife might read this thread one day. If she ever found this place I would be in some serious do do I like to think of it as how many have have I put back to a semi presentable and running condition. They are really great cars, I wish most other folk could see it. I bought a 1.8 16V when I lived in Spain (2004). I bought it from London, online. It was on UK plates but left hand drive. My parents were due a visit and they drove it down to 'La Manga' - bottom right of Spain - from the UK and would then fly back later. When they arrived, they had nothing but good things to say about the car and what a nice drive it was. It only takes some time behind the wheel of one of these and then you realise how nice they actually are .... It then never let me down either. From here on, I was smitten

Haha I bought this car yesterday for £450! Very pleased with it. In much better shape than my 20vt that cost a lot more. Paint work has seen better days and the electrics have a few gremlins but drives lovely. Cambelt is 2 years old. Virtually no rust and the two minor advisories on the new mot have been done. I'm taking that as no advisories 😁 Looks like a steal at the moment, fingers crossed.

Looking good patch - and look forward to seeing the bodywork done with your touch. Steel seems to be often dismissed as a run-of-the-mill colour but I think (then again I would woudn't I!) think that Silver polished to the max looks fantastic. Really gives a glassy effect look......

Yes, silver polished and refined does have a great glassy look to it. This can be made even better by using a ceramic type coating on the paintwork. The picture below is of one of my old cars 'polished to the max'. The effect on this was really created because the paintwork (or rather, clear coat) was mopped to remove swirls / holograms / etc. The reflected light is perfectly uniform (fancy huh!). With these latest coatings you can really add protection against future swirl marking too.

Glad you made it back in one piece Phil, quite a gasper! Not sure I share your love for KFC but am more than happy to agree about coupes, and you must have really felt at home all the way up the M5/M6 - a lovely way to finish your journey Final shot, with my wives car parked up for the evening. Sounds like you haven't been idle during your stint abroad

No, no Plus project with the Electric blue; there is not enough to do with it. Just improve the paint, the leather, clean the engine bay more, add a sticker set to the engine bay and keep up the maintenance. There is another Plus I own that I will be doing a thread on though

What I really want is the FMIC that is underslung behind the bumper, long and not so tall. To prevent any bumper cutting. But this is hard to find. So, may need to go the normal FMIC route and do some modifying to the front bumper. The current plan (subject to change like all my plans) Will be GT28rs, FMIC, larger diameter downpipe, fuel pump mod, FPR, map and some kind of boost control. I am only after 300 bhp (only, hahahaha) and I am not too sure if the bigger bore SMIC is up for this. Will need to find a clever person....

I don`t think an uprated side mount is up to 300bhp. Does Flea not do a no cutting front mount kit? Yes he does. This is the kind of thing I am on the lookout for. But these mods and the installation of the GT29rs will need to wait until I am home next time. Another new house? Garage threads are good! You bringing silver to Brooklands? Yes Ruebs. We have had two rented houses since we sold. One in Malvern whilst we waited for Brooke to finish school and one here in Thornton Cleveleys whilst we we looking for one to buy here. Now found and bought. Interestingly, we were all supposed to exchange today (29th) but a day ago my solicitor emailed and said it was delayed due to the chain further up to early next week. Real pain as I have limited time home!!!

Cracking job on the Bullet paint so far Phil, you realise I'm investing in (half of a) machine polisher because of this I've just bought a machine polisher too, hoping to reduce that slight mismatch due to all panels not being resprayed at the same time. Check out this guy on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KP-eAddv2skI found a starter kit with the exact same pads and polish as he's using there.

I'm loving seeing this come on after you usual attention to detail and hard effort. In today's pictures you managed to catch a tram in there too, a bonus. I'm also surprised about your Buxus sempervirens placement. Where I live that wouldn't be there for more than 10 mins

Yes but the full story is that it's a "go-halfers" purchase with a certain VIS owner in this area who is clandestinely working up to becoming a Patch rival (and not doing too badly at that, considering various parts of the bodywork have found their way into intimate parts of his house for Xtreme close attention ) so seeing as I have possesion of it at the moment maybe all I have to do is to keep forgetting to take it over to his bit..... Then the Bee can be SHINEY hahahahaha mwahahaha
