Did your old neighbours complain about recurring dreams of always seeing different coloured coupes parked in your front garden? You're right the chat has cooled down a bit but now you're back I daresay some happy mud-slinging would warm things up again Looks a great find though, where did you see it advertised?

My old neighbours actually took time to discuss each car, I think secretly they wanted one!! Though they probably got a little freaked out by my incessant wandering around looking at them late at night.... I can imagine the conversation. "Hey, honey, he's out there again just staring at them, weirdo!"
I found this on a Facebook group, it took some time to sell actually, I think I was lucky, especially at the price paid from what he was asking. Now it seems everyone is taking more interest. You snooze you lose! Saying this, it'll end up a fair price being paid out in the end; once things are made to my taste.

Hahahahaha! That really made me 'lol' - Funny that not too many people use lol anymore. The world has moved on from lol. I can't divulge that information JKD, my wife might read this thread one day. If she ever found this place I would be in some serious do do I like to think of it as how many have have I put back to a semi presentable and running condition. They are really great cars, I wish most other folk could see it. I bought a 1.8 16V when I lived in Spain (2004). I bought it from London, online. It was on UK plates but left hand drive. My parents were due a visit and they drove it down to 'La Manga' - bottom right of Spain - from the UK and would then fly back later. When they arrived, they had nothing but good things to say about the car and what a nice drive it was. It only takes some time behind the wheel of one of these and then you realise how nice they actually are .... It then never let me down either. From here on, I was smitten

Haha I bought this car yesterday for £450! Very pleased with it. In much better shape than my 20vt that cost a lot more. Paint work has seen better days and the electrics have a few gremlins but drives lovely. Cambelt is 2 years old. Virtually no rust and the two minor advisories on the new mot have been done. I'm taking that as no advisories 😁 Looks like a steal at the moment, fingers crossed.

Looking good patch - and look forward to seeing the bodywork done with your touch. Steel seems to be often dismissed as a run-of-the-mill colour but I think (then again I would woudn't I!) think that Silver polished to the max looks fantastic. Really gives a glassy effect look......

Yes, silver polished and refined does have a great glassy look to it. This can be made even better by using a ceramic type coating on the paintwork. The picture below is of one of my old cars 'polished to the max'. The effect on this was really created because the paintwork (or rather, clear coat) was mopped to remove swirls / holograms / etc. The reflected light is perfectly uniform (fancy huh!). With these latest coatings you can really add protection against future swirl marking too.

Glad you made it back in one piece Phil, quite a gasper! Not sure I share your love for KFC but am more than happy to agree about coupes, and you must have really felt at home all the way up the M5/M6 - a lovely way to finish your journey Final shot, with my wives car parked up for the evening. Sounds like you haven't been idle during your stint abroad

Final shot, with my wives car parked up for the evening. How many wives have you got, Patch? And is it fair that they have to share one car?
