Launched this week at the LA motorshow

Godawful crass presentation, but fast forward to 2.40 and looks pretty promising. 505BHP, faster than a Audi R8, 911 etc.

while germans make, italians create...

How to launch a new car - Only in America?
Not sure I like the front - it seems heavy and lacking any innovation?
Good Wheeler Dealer vid on the Alfasud afterwards!

I'm not totally convinced by the new 124 spider. I like the retro 124 bonnet and front and the interior but the rest of it is far too like its sister car the MX5. Better to judge in the flesh though I suppose. Does anyone know if its confirmed to be coming to these shores?

I quite like the Giulia, apart from the horrible mesh grille, but to me the Fiat 124 is ugly.

The MX-5 looks far better. frown

Yes, as a current 124 Spider owner I'm disappointed with the way the new one has turned out. The sides look OK with the characteristic line that kicks up over the door handle, and the twin bonnet bulges are OK I suppose, but I'm not sold on the front lights and the rear also looks a bit fussy frown

According to motortrader it is coming to the UK? And hopefully in RHD, which I guess is more likely considering it's MX-5 roots. So maybe it will grow on me over time...

I was told back in April that Fiat UK had approached a certain specialist not too far from you Dave for contact details of some prime examples in the UK for them to use as some sort of UK marketing campaign to launch it here later.

Hasten to add mine wasn't one of them (but then I'm not kidding myself in that department). Don't know what if anything came of it, but it hints that it might indeed be available here in time.

I was looking at some of the comments on pistonheads and to say it's been slated is the understatement of the year. Ouch.

I contacted Fiat UK and got a prompt email back:

From that high angle and in white the looks are indeed starting to grow on me wink I wonder if they'll do it in Maroon to match my old one (not a pic of mine, just borrowed)
