Hi was wondering what alternatives there are to the K&N cone filter!
Ideally i would like to go back to the original box even if its just for disguise! Im sure sombody has done this but cannot find any posts relating to it so if anyone has please let me know

Right now the problem bit!
My car is fitted with a bigger turbo SIP tube and is tuned to 358bhp with 311lb ft torque!

I dont want to be loosing any of that power so what are my options?

Also will changing to a different filter and pipes change the Flea tailored Chip? i.e. will it need to be re-done or can it adjust itself to different bits being fitted?

Flea could you help on that one please?

Any suggestions with the alternatives appreciated!

Cheers Rich

It will effect spooling, but I'm sure Flea would be the best person to answer this.

i have the apexi cone filter on mine, this is what i fitted after i also ditched the K & N peace of tat... since fitting it it has less induction noise and i dont her the pigion sound of turbo flutter anymore.

i got my filter from ebay at about £100 or so... but you have to watch out for cheap ones that are fake ones... there is a youtube presentation that shows you how to spot between real and fake Apexi cone filter.

i dont know the part number off hand sorry... but should be able find it on the bay by doing apexi cone filter search... bear in mind there is different diamitor size cones available too... so you will have to measure the OD of the induction pipe your fitting on to, thus ensuring the right one.

personally i have my air filter behind the near side head light in the upper position rather than the straight induction pipe lay out, but each to there own... my thinking was to try make sure i didnt suck up and puddles by keeping it higher up.

I bought mine direct from Nengun in Japan, if you want to be sure it's genuine this is a good way. When bought it the exchange rate was in our favour so it cost me around £70, you just have to accept a longer than average postage time.
