Hello Coupé friends,

I am Rico, 24 years old and have a 1998 2.0 20v Turbo Limited Edition N°365, in Steel Grey Metallic and fitted with a factory sunroof.

After owned a 1999 Coupé 1.8 16v in Speed Red and a 1998 2.0 20v Turbo in Wine Red before, my dream was to have a late model Plus or an LE with a sunroof, because I truly like the look of a roof with the stunning lines of the Coupé. But, a car that I wanted, was like an unicorn in Holland, especially for a bit of a decent price. Untill Sunday the 29th of November. A Coupé owner who had this beauty for almost 12 years, decided that it was time for something else and made an advert on the Dutch Coupé Facebook page. In one way or another, with the most coïncidence I have ever had, I opened up Facebook right at that time and the first thing I saw, was the advert. I fell almost of my chair of excitement!! Of course I'd react immediately, but the owner didn't answer my reaction... that was quite the most horrifing moment, because there were some other guys who did react as well! Luckily, after 15 minutes he respond, the man get under the shower when he post his advert. He say it was my lucky day, because I was the first who send him a message! If I was 3 minutes later, I didn't have it... it was thát close. The only huge, not to say immense problem, was the fact that I had a sweet BMW who I had to sell first! We have made a deal that he will kept the Coupé for me for a whole week, so I had the chance to sell the Bimmer. And... you might guessed it: I have done it! So now I am the owner of a sweet Limited, for an ever sweeter price! It has covered 161.xxx km (about 95k miles), cambelt was changed 2500km (approx. 1900 miles) ago, in February this year. Turbo is replaced as well, even as the clutch, intercooler and radiator.

She is in a big need of a detail/polish service, she gets a big service this Saturday (filters, oil... that kind of things), and she also need some minor paint repairs. Other then that, and some little things like replacing some lights, she is a real champ! I wasn't that psyched before like this, in Holland there might be only 1-3 LE's in Steel Grey and as far as I know, mine is the only one with a sunroof.

Hello Rico. Well done in getting the LE.
I thought you still had the wine red for some reason.

I better did never sell that Wine Red... frown. It was also a real sweet ride, but unfortunately I think I smashed my head or something, and bought an BMW. Also a very nice and reliable car, but no emotion. And that's what the Coupé is full of. And that is exactly what I like! The Coupé is a part of me, I missed it, but now it's back! Good way for me to end 2015!

Thanks mate! I have to say I did not expect that the previous owner would sell her. As I am searching for an LE or Plus with sunroof also over 2 years or so, this was my lucky shot! I see you are from Poland! My other car is a 1997 Fiat 126 EL, the little Maluch! Also quite a joy to drive, altough I need an other one for daily basis, as the LE is become to be my garage/nice weather queen.

Today I went to the Dutch Coupé specialist for big maintenance, new liquids + filters, windscreenwipers, and a new front spring. Old one was broken unfortunately. Further they did a big check on it, and it was not bad, but not good either. Need some new front discs + pads, bushes were worn out, it needs new wishbones + rubber bushings front, and one in the back, the left backwheel stood 2cm further to the inside due that wishbone, also was the piece of plastic what holds the gearlever together broken (yeah Joe, I had that with the Wine 20vt too.. ughh) and there were some other minor things that has to be done. All within the next month, it has also the Dutch version of the MOT (a.k.a. APK) so before I get her to the APK, she gets al those things first. A little bit of a set back, but to be honest, I should not complain. It might be a £1000 for repairs and so, but seen the fact I get my 100k miles Coupé LE for £1400 quid, I probably should be lucky that it even runs!

Cheers!

Friends, a quick question. Changed my oil + filters yesterday, now I have at idle 1.9 bar oil pressure, 3 when driving. But my question is: when I make a turn, pressure turns down to about 2.4-2.5 bar. Is there too less engine oil in it, or could it be something else? It wasn't before the change, but the mechanic filled up and checked and said it was good.. I will check tomorrowmorning before I'll take her for a spin, but I was wondering right now...

greetings, Rico.

(ps; is the pressure at idle good too? I thought it was 2.0 bar at least (engine is warm)

I am used to have the pressure at 3.0 bar (on my previous 20vt) when I'm driving, even in the corners.. but I've checked the dipstick this morning before I drove off, and the oil level in my engine was good.
