Took the coupe down to Lacock Abbey for a couple of days there and in Wells, clutching a large format camera and a handful of dark slides[1]. Excellent weekend trip (well, Sunday and Monday) including a stop in the hideously but very nice Red Lion in Lacock; mooching around the Abbey, and then investigating Wells Cathedral.

Carrying a large format camera has a certain status at Lacock; one finds oneself discussing photographic chemistry with the volunteers, and polite enquiries made as to whether one has located 'that' oriel window[2].

All in all an excellent time, spoilt only by the discovery that some fine soul, full no doubt of the spirit of the season, had used the rear quarter of the coupe as a contact parking sensor. No significant damage, I think, but bloody annoying all the same. grr

[1] that sentence is unlikely to make sense to anyone who is not a photographer smile
[2] nor that one.

From a keen amateur who still has a lot of nice film gear, understood and kudos for going hardcore. Hope you had a great time. smile

Neil, is that 5x4 or 10x8? I quite fancy going up a size but the price of sheet film and the portability keep stopping me.

5x4 - still costs between 50p and a quid for b/w negatives; lots more for 10x8, and we won't even mention the cost of the glass on the front...
