Helping my daughter create a den in our garden this morning, a five pot warble turned my head. It was the Coupe I sold last year. Emotional or what?
Rob, the new owner, has turned the Vis into a real stunner. I didn't realise how much I'd missed the shape love
He's done lots of work to it including having it mapped.
He also mentioned that it's soon to be for sale and I could have first dibs!!!!!
Now, I'm upto my neck in diy, my day job is really difficult at the moment and the 156 is in bits outside.
I really want the V6 noise but the Coupe...well...everything.

And no, I can't have both crazy

Anyone else had this experience with a car the used to own?

I'm in silly turmoil.

This is what you should have said when the new owner mentioned it's soon to be for sale:

I bought my current X1/9 originally in the early '90's and sold on to a lad in Scotland who kept in touch..... My wife has family in Glasgow and went up there for a hol and tour around and met an old mate who is still in to his Italian classics. We went to a meet and I met up with the lad who had the X. Seeing it driving around when you are not in the seat yourself really made me realise why I liked the car and lo and behold some time later he offered it back to me when he needed to sell. Hence I've owned twice now. Its great to see and hear someone driving your own chariot thumb

Jkd - Ha. Yes. No. I don't know.

Nello. I asked him to turn round the drive past when he left.
It looked and sounded great as he gave it the beans in first and second - different after the remap maybe. Still needs a Cybox exhaust though. Parp parp.

Huw..... the coupe is part of your psyche now. Don't fight it.

As the 156 is in bits, it doesn't count as a car. Also, you need a functioning Italian machine so you can come to Brooklands in April.

Do it !!!!!!!!!!!!

No pressure. wink

Thanks for the replies.
I sat in the 156 last night. It's a nice place to be, especially as the fuel pump is out so the fuel tank is open in the back seat area - ahh the fumes drunk

I need to get the V6 out of my system. It does sound at times like a 6R4, my all time favourite engine sound.

The body is a humble three box saloon with a DFS leather interior.

I'm guessing I'll be back in a Coupe one day, but not just yet.

I used to have a 156 v6. Nuvola Blue.

big servicing costs- have you ever seen one of those engines out of the car!? It was a lovely piece of gear, but ultimately a bit nose heavy and i could never get the suspension sorted so it wouldn't drift off course.

But for kids? The five door practicality can't be beaten, perhaps

depends how old your kids are...
