Its that time of year again... the nights are milder and the fishing rods have come out. Fancy a few weekend sessions before my fishing holiday in france. Ive had a few good tips on here in the past for fishing venues. Someone recommended to me Fernhil Farm Fisheries... thanks for that, ive been going for years now. Are there many fellow carp fishermen on here? Im interested in some reccomendations about places to fish. Must fit this criteria: 1. Im not interested in anywhere i cannot night fish 2. Im not interested in anywhere that is so busy you cannot get a swim without sitting on another fishermans lap 3. Anywhere around: London, Hertfordshire, Essex or Oxford Thanks! Forum Power

Mario, I fished Milton Pools Fishery a few years ago. It might be a bit far from you being in Oxford, but it's a lovely well run fishery. I spent 2 nights on the Specimen Lake and caught well. I had a 21lb Mirror and over a dozen others over 10lbs. Not huge fish but depends on what size you're looking for. I've not fished Linear Fisheries but a few of my ex Carping buddies have said in the past it's a cracking place.

I'll check with my mate. He's a regular at local lakes - normally catfish though.

Any other requirements Mario - costs, size of fish, easy fishing or something a bit challenging?

Any other requirements Mario - costs, size of fish, easy fishing or something a bit challenging? Hey Nobby Not fussed about costs. Size of fish either, although i prefer to go for the big boys. Also i like something challenging if the rewards are worth it. Im a pretty experienced carp angler however do like a bit of cat fishing also!

Honestly, looking at Mario you'd think the closest he's gotten to extreme fishing is Harry Ramsden
