Hey everyone, My company car is now only about 5 weeks away. I bought my current coupe as a bit of a rescue mission as it was on the verge of being broke and as a run around for a few weeks while I got my company car chosen and ordered.

As I wont be needing it anymore in a few weeks and I have nowhere to keep it I am going to be selling it but I don't really know what to ask for it so I was wondering if I should ask people in here on in one of the areas.

I thought buying advice but that seemed the wrong way around smile

Why not list the specs/condition along with Pictures and then ask for price suggestion.

The price you get will depend on how quickly you want to sell to a certain extent.

Well if you only bought it a few weeks ago then you must have a fair idea of what it is worth to you surely! Add a bit maybe for any work/servicing you have carried out. smile

Put an advert in the Coupes for sale section for what you would be happy for it to sell for plus a little wriggle room.

Otherwise stick it on eBay.

I paid £900 for it and then spent £1100 getting it into a state where it was worth the MOT that the previous owner had probably paid his mate at a garage £100 for smile

When I put the £1100 in it I knew I would not be getting it back. I wanted to save it because it is a really good Coupe, just not very good cosmetically.

I know its not worth the £2100 I have in it, so was after a little advice on what other people would think its worth.

180k with 17 service stamps. Almost every 10k.
Just had new CV boots all round and a 2nd hand drive shaft. New suspension arm, new brake disk and pads all round and a full service and health check. Brand new Windscreen as well. Mechanically she seems really good, really strong on boost and runs like a dream.

She has a stainless exhaust, Eibach Springs and Bilstein Shocks. She sounds awesome.

PLenty of issues mainly cosmetic. Needs a little weld near the hand brake, drivers side lock doesnt work. Loads of lacquer peel on the roof, some car park dings, general marks here and there over the interior and exterior.

I dont think you would want to buy this as a project to make perfect, but I think she would be a perfect candidate for a track car.

Any advice on rough prices if you were putting it up for sale would be appreciated.....then I will write a proper for sale thread.

Pictures would go along way to helping on top of these details, dj...

The value of things is often perceptive- especially in cars...

I haven't actually got any pictures other than the ones from the original advert and they made it look much better than it is.

I'm only after very rough ideas. £1000, £1500??? I know I will be losing money but obviously I would like to lose as little possible smile

Have a look at what similar coupes fetched in the Coupes for sale section of the forum and/or what they made on ebay finished auctions.

If you're happy at £1500, stick it up at £1500. Worse case, it doesn't sell.

A 180k vt was auctioned on ebay recently twice, both times reaching £1800. Cosmetically looks really good and has a lot of overhauling work according to the advert.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/142012631571

On that basis I think you should bite off anyone's hand who offers you £1500.

I would say the £3500 was wayyyy more than optimistic. It's such a hard market to price your car in, but I'd say £1500 is good solid money, I think £1200-1300 is realistic, but it all depends how long you want to hold it before it goes.

I mean if somebody actually pays over £3k for that horrific orange one on eBay at the moment then I guess you're is worth anywhere between five to ten grand.

Put it in dry storage if it's not going to be in the way of anyone, you won't loose a penny.

And you could slowly turn it into YOUR track car. Or just a good solid car to bring to FCCUK events. smile

When I stored mine on SORN, it wasn't even insured. So didn't cost a thing.

I am starting to lean towards keeping it as maybe a good base for a great future track car.

Any car on the road must be insured; if it's on private land, it doesn't.

Any car on the road must be taxed and MOTed but if it's on private land it may be instead registered SORN and does not require either insurance or tax.
