As most of you know from this thread here: http://www.fiatcoupeclub.org/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1573341#Post1573341
I thought my Coupe owning days were coming to an end and was distraught about my Coupe having to come off the road frown

I was overwhelmed and grateful for all the support I had here as well as pledges of money to help me keep it on the road and I won't forget peoples kindness and generosity smile

I couldn't accept the money as it wasn't fair on other people who's Coupes also need help staying on the road and as the welding alone on mine was going to cost around 2K and with it needing a cambelt change, as well as many other things, it was time to realise that this year was it's last.

However, Rob also knew I wouldn't accept the money but knew I didn't want to be without a Coupe, so he went and bought me another Sprinty a couple of months ago laugh

We've been trying to work stuff out and I was going to drive mine to Carlisle and swap over what I wanted to keep and Rob was going to have what was left of mine for spares, but it worked out easier in the end for me to keep mine for spares and pay him for the one he'd bought.

Rob has been great and said I can pay him back as and when, so that helps me a great deal.

I got the train up to Carlisle earlier and picked it up and it's now on the drive with mine.

Rob also treated me (although cooked by Angelo laugh ) to my favourite of a pint of Peroni
and a Spaghetti Bolognese while I was there too lick

So, in a few weeks, mine will be sorned after 10 years of ownership and used for spares and hopefully keep the 'new' Coupe on the road for another 10 years or longer smile

So again, many thanks to everyone on here and an extra special thanks to Rob love

There was a bit of a hint as to what was my next car when I posted these photos in the Social Events section when Rob brought the car to a show to let me see it laugh

Glad you had a good drive back, must've been like driving on a cushion of air compared to yours laugh

You've championed my business for long enough and organised many successful Christmas meets, the last thing I was going to accept was you driving around in a girlie 147 nono

There was only ever going to be one outcome, this one!

I'll apologise now for doing your head in and trying to talk you into this over the last few months, but I hope you'll agree it was the best all-round solution.
Everyone deserves a break and no-one works harder than you to make ends meet, I've lost count of how many jobs you have! Ultimately, you're still in your favourite car and I'm just happy I was able to help.

You're not just a club rep, organiser, hard working mother and grandma, you're an all-round good egg and a dear friend.

Enjoy the old girl for another 10 years driving love

Testament to your powers of persuasion Rob, you really are the Heineken of all coupe owners bow

T, I'm sure you're delighted with the outcome after the twists and turns of fate, I'm happy that you've found an acceptable solution (that you couldn't refuse laugh )

So good to read a post like this and especially for Teresa to have such a happy outcome after all her trials with her coupe.

Lol laugh

Thanks all cool

Yes, it is like driving on a cushion of air compared to driving mine laugh

I was 34 years old when I bought my Coupe and liked my cars low, more for the looks than anything else.
10 years on and in a different Coupe, I'm starting to think comfort is quite pleasurable laugh

Just to add, I gave it a full belts, idler, tensioners and water pump overhaul so she doesn't have to worry about those for a few years. All It really needs now is the lacquer peel sorting and it will be a superb car.

Hi Kelvin, hope things are good with you back home mate.

Seems to be a superb car so far and although comfortable, it seems strange having to step in and out of it so far off the ground. Filling up with petrol to get home was when I first realised how high it sat compared to mine as I had to lift my arm a lot higher to open the petrol cap rofl

The lacquer peel doesn't look as bad as mine as it's nearly all off now laugh I might look into getting it sorted eventually though, just want to get some other things done with it first smile

I am Neil, just this is at a new, higher angle laugh

Swapped back to my Coupe earlier while there was space on the street to get them both off the drive to swap them over as I want to get the exhaust taken off my Coupe later and wanted to give it another few runs before it's laid up forever cry

I know they are the same car, but they drive differently - I like the harshness and roughness of mine, but also like the comfort of Robs laugh

I'm very happy and pleased Rob got this one for me, but I will miss mine and it's little quirks - it's been good to me for 10 years love

I'm sure I'll have at least another happy 10 years or more with this new one though smile cool

He is indeed and always has been smile

Took my Coupe to the exhaust place today to have my cat back system taken off and put onto the 'new' Coupe.
It was easier for them to take off the cat too, so I had to drive it back home without an exhaust system on it laugh

proccy would have loved the sound it made, it sounded extremely loud and good laugh
Downside was absolutely loads of smoke pouring out from under the car when stopped at traffic lights, etc haha laugh

Mines now off the road as I don't need to drive it anywhere any more cry frown

The 'new' Coupe now has my Coupes cat back system fitted to it and it sounds like my old Coupe so I feel as if it's still living on, so to speak laugh

So sad seeing my Coupe parked up in it's final resting place now though frown

It'll still be contributing by 'donation' from time to time though T so you'll never be far from a memento or two even when you're miles from home smile

Now just to let some air out of the tyres so you can reach the fuel cap...... wink
