As most of you know from this thread here: http://www.fiatcoupeclub.org/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1573341#Post1573341I thought my Coupe owning days were coming to an end and was distraught about my Coupe having to come off the road I was overwhelmed and grateful for all the support I had here as well as pledges of money to help me keep it on the road and I won't forget peoples kindness and generosity I couldn't accept the money as it wasn't fair on other people who's Coupes also need help staying on the road and as the welding alone on mine was going to cost around 2K and with it needing a cambelt change, as well as many other things, it was time to realise that this year was it's last. However, Rob also knew I wouldn't accept the money but knew I didn't want to be without a Coupe, so he went and bought me another Sprinty a couple of months ago We've been trying to work stuff out and I was going to drive mine to Carlisle and swap over what I wanted to keep and Rob was going to have what was left of mine for spares, but it worked out easier in the end for me to keep mine for spares and pay him for the one he'd bought. Rob has been great and said I can pay him back as and when, so that helps me a great deal. I got the train up to Carlisle earlier and picked it up and it's now on the drive with mine. Rob also treated me (although cooked by Angelo ) to my favourite of a pint of Peroni and a Spaghetti Bolognese while I was there too So, in a few weeks, mine will be sorned after 10 years of ownership and used for spares and hopefully keep the 'new' Coupe on the road for another 10 years or longer So again, many thanks to everyone on here and an extra special thanks to Rob

Glad you had a good drive back, must've been like driving on a cushion of air compared to yours You've championed my business for long enough and organised many successful Christmas meets, the last thing I was going to accept was you driving around in a girlie 147 There was only ever going to be one outcome, this one! I'll apologise now for doing your head in and trying to talk you into this over the last few months, but I hope you'll agree it was the best all-round solution. Everyone deserves a break and no-one works harder than you to make ends meet, I've lost count of how many jobs you have! Ultimately, you're still in your favourite car and I'm just happy I was able to help. You're not just a club rep, organiser, hard working mother and grandma, you're an all-round good egg and a dear friend. Enjoy the old girl for another 10 years
This is how it should have come out of Torino!

Just to add, I gave it a full belts, idler, tensioners and water pump overhaul so she doesn't have to worry about those for a few years. All It really needs now is the lacquer peel sorting and it will be a superb car.
Hi Kelvin, hope things are good with you back home mate.
This is how it should have come out of Torino!

Seems to be a superb car so far and although comfortable, it seems strange having to step in and out of it so far off the ground. Filling up with petrol to get home was when I first realised how high it sat compared to mine as I had to lift my arm a lot higher to open the petrol cap The lacquer peel doesn't look as bad as mine as it's nearly all off now I might look into getting it sorted eventually though, just want to get some other things done with it first T
Will we see you at Donington next week T? No, I'm afraid not, sorry

Hey Rob-
You're a pretty good-egg yourself, sir!
He is indeed and always has been Took my Coupe to the exhaust place today to have my cat back system taken off and put onto the 'new' Coupe. It was easier for them to take off the cat too, so I had to drive it back home without an exhaust system on it proccy would have loved the sound it made, it sounded extremely loud and good Downside was absolutely loads of smoke pouring out from under the car when stopped at traffic lights, etc haha Mines now off the road as I don't need to drive it anywhere any more The 'new' Coupe now has my Coupes cat back system fitted to it and it sounds like my old Coupe so I feel as if it's still living on, so to speak So sad seeing my Coupe parked up in it's final resting place now though

That's awesome news, really glad to hear that you got something sorted! The forum wouldn't be the same without you in a coop!
And well done to Rob, what a cracking thing to do!
