Colleague drove one on a driver awareness course and was not impressed, main problem was lack of power, so could depend on model.

Personally I would have a Fiat 500 Trekking over a Cactus, looks better looking IMHO and comns with M&S tyres as standard.

Mate at work has just taken on a PCP on one - nice unusual Grey colour with Black wheels but I was suprised when he said it was a 1.2?! Looks ok though....

Thanks for the comments folks. I had already heard that the power would be best described as "adequate". It's only a 1.2 turbo 3 pot, so I wouldn't expect blistering performance, although with the car weighing a mere 1020kg it should manage to get from 0-60mph within an hour. If I occasionally want more fun I'll use one of the other cars. Styling wise, I'm a fan. Its bold ugliness reminds me of the original Multipla. Mrs. Jimbob wants to buy one with the Hello Yellow paint, but that's a touch too brash for me (sorry broomy owners). I think it would be the Arctic Steel paint for me, with the black airbumps. I did actually consider the Fiat 500 in its various incarnations first, but dismissed it due to the fact there are so many around here that I may never find where I parked it. Funky looking car but just remember that 30% of all Citroens fail their first MOT and most after the first as well. Keep it for 3 years and then punt it on! The current 15 year old Citroën is only just starting to fall apart. I've booked a test drive, so I'll see how it feels and go from there.

I see them on transport lorrys coming up from Spain/Portugal every day. They must be made there. The lorrys pass my village on route to the north. Hundreds of them everyday!

Well, a mere 7 weeks after the promised delivery date, it's here. It has already been branded and named, Baymax. First impressions are good, some of the trim feels cheap, but I didn't expect anything else. Some nice little design cues, like the perfect iPhone sized tray directly below the USB port and I like the funky dash and door straps. It's never going to win any races, but it really doesn't feel like a 1.2, although at idle I can really hear/feel the missing cylinder. Hopefully the fuel economy is close to the claimed figure. Now to get myself something silly to offset this sensible purchase... What are people's thoughts on the Alfa 156 sportwagon (preferably 2.4 JTD)?

What is the bit down the side about ? It's the airbumps, apparently the idea was to essentially put a car in a protective case like you would do with a mobile phone. They're also on the front and rear to protect the lights. How effective they are remains to be seen.
