Collected it yesterday in Cornwall but only got back to Kerry in Ireland today. I believe this car was owned before by a member on here 'Wheatcroft'was his user id - (Richard Wheatcroft). This is my third coupe - my first was a red 1996 16V, then a blue year 2000 20VT and now this which is also a year 2000 20VT. I still have my old 20VT but sadly that car will now become the parts car for this if needed.

So 35 years after my beautiful 128 3p was parked here another yellow Fiat sports car occupies the same spot. All is well with the world again.

Cool
Is it as nice as it looks,I would be expecting perfection at that money.

Its perfect enough for me anyway - there are two small dings that my paintless ding removal expert will easily knock out. Other than that its as new and drives beautifully.

Its the exact coupe I keep kicking myself I did not buy when they were new. This car has almost made up for that regret now.

Was there a drooling/crazy price type thread about it on here - link please. laugh

Its nice to finally have a proper working coupe. My 16V was always a bit dodgy to get through our NCT (MOT). I only had it for about a year. It was such a sweet little car I should have kept that and spent a bit on it but instead opted for a blue 20VT which turned out to be a bit of a disaster mechanically so it never really hit the road at all and I was left coupeless.

My new coupe is going over to Motormech on the 19th for a complete check over but in the meantime I will do a simple service to it here myself.

Have to wear my shades even on dull days when driving to shield my eyes from all that yellow paint. cool

Liking your old 3p as well. Used to enjoy seeing them around Dublin, when I grew up.

Brought the car back from Motormech yesterday - a brilliant day for driving weather wise but deciding to go on the Friday of a UK bank holiday weekend is not something I will repeat in a hurry. The M6 was littered with insane multi vehicle traffic accidents (according to the radio) and so I programmed the sat nav to take the more scenic route as did almost everyone else on the M6 so that was just as bad. Thankfully I got the car out of Motormech before 9am so was at Holyhead by 2pm. The traffic situation got really bad later in the day.

New clutch fitted and major service - seems to be competently done (except the aircon which still does not work) but I won't be using Motormech again. The feedback from the mechanic on my car was abysmal as was the initial assessment of the car when dropped off - ie; none - a case of gimmie the keys and good luck. So no opportunity to discuss any mods I would have liked to do (manual fan switch) or service concerns I may have about the car in the future.

PowerItalia next time for sure.
