Leather or Cloth interior? #1582944

I'm looking at buying a new daily driver and had quite liked the idea of leather seats. The salesman today though tried to put me off, citing our 5-year old leaving scuffs and marks throughout as a reason to go for cloth instead.

I'd thought that leather would be easier to clean 'child dirt' off. Any recommendations?

I have leather on the alfa, really didn't want it because it was more expensive, it shows wear badly, it's hot in summer, cold in winter, it's slippery too!

Almost all of these problems are avoided with cloth!

Leather is easier to clean and less likely to tear, biggest bonus is that smell of a leather interior that lasts for years, try that with cloth!

It depends a lot on the quality of the leather. Leather in the Alfas I've had hasn't been great with it scuffing and cracking whereas the leather in the Mercs has been very good. There are treatments you can apply that help protect it. Generally, I'd go with leather.
