Hi all,

I'm looking to upgrade the front seats on my 20vt, The seat is just too short and I get back ache I donlt have in any other car. I think the italian male is a lot shorter then me!

Plus seats would be fine- but good luck finding any!

I'd be really grateful for any advice from those that upgraded as to what are best workable options - I'm not looking for bucket/race seats. And want to find soemthing that fits/works as though Original Equipment.

Thanks in advance!

MM

Use the Hyundai Coupe 2005-> seats. The offer great support, can be height adjustable. Make your own costum brackets. I did just that and must say that they are 3x better than original. Comfortable and sporty!

Thank you Mrzly_slo,

I'd never have thought to look at Hyundai!

You can also use the seats of an Lancia delta 16vt hpe. The same as the plus seats. And there quite cheap Aprox. €150 to €250

Excellent - how easy are they to find though?

Just looking, I can't find any Delta hpe seats at all at the present.

I'm wanting to keep my coupe as standard as possible...but the seats just cause me pain on long journeys. I think our italiam conterparts have shorter legs...

Hyundai coupe seats are fab. They dont look to out of place and very supportive. They also wear very very well.
On my previous one Nigel and made a plate in which the seats bolted to. Runner and all.

Hyundai Coupe seats in my old Sprinty

As Reuben says, they are very comfortable. Fitting wasn't easy, as the hole centres on the Hyundai seats are wider than the Coupe as well as longer front to rear. Also bizarrely, the Coupe's "tunnel" isn't actually in the centre of the car, meaning one seat needed to be spaced further out than the other. The diagram below is for the passenger's seat - the driver's seat had to be moved to the right)

I ended up making the plates with multiple mounting holes so that I could alter the position of the seat side-to-side

Wow, they look so neat like they were made to be in there more than the originals.

Ok,

Thanks very much Nigel and Cupedummy (we met when TRS was at Joe's I think) for images and that technical guide.

They sound length wise exactly what the doctor ordered. And look great to my eye.

TRS is off for a new clutch early next month - and then seats are order of the day.
