This second series is so much better than the first.

And I think the brigadier with Alzheimer's is making it up....

and the last episode will have James Nesbitt running around the undergrowth looking for Oliver

We thought last night's episode was the last, and so with 5 minutes to go we thought he was going to get away with it. I can't believe nobody bothered to try and find the German policeman who got "drilled" and having the two main women characters looking similar, and the constant switching back and forth between years was confusing at first.

I didn't know there was a first series?

The german police officer said he was going away for two weeks (thta was the mssage sent by Ketterick), so he will not be on the missing register for ages. There was a reference this week from Baptiste's wife to the Oliver case and the fact that Julienne was turning into Tony Hughes (nesbitt), so could this case go unsolved with Julienne searching till he dies frown

@Dave. The first series is also fantastic. This is the Morse of the 2000s

Enjoying it a lot. You have to pay attention what with all the date changing etc.

It's a lot easier with Alices mother in shot as her hairstyle helps.

One of the best crime thrillers I have seen.

I thought they had killed Alice and then put her body in the shed to be burnt (hence the DNA being "Alice") which allowed the disposing of the body.

Another theory I had is that Alice's father (Sam Webster) is somehow implicated in the decision not to go looking for Getrick hence the reason for his taking of his daughter and subsequent decision to send Sophie back back for revenge, but I now think that he has done that to stop the search for Alice (and the third kidnapped girl on the rollercoaster was actually the one in the shed)

Final theory is that Julien Baptiste will be shot in the head in the final episode, the twist being that the bullet will obliterate the tumour in his head so his search for the truth will end up saving him.

Can't wait for the final episode.

The DNA was match to Alices' Father (why did they specify that?) It did not confirm it was Alice, just that the DNA matched. Maybe he had another child his Wife did not know about? Or maybe the DNA evidence was tampered anyway?

Can't wait to see tonight's conclusion. Like you SB I am unsure how involved/implicated or knowing Sam Webster is.

It was the army that did the dna testing,so my theory is that the murderer/abducter tampered with the dna ,or the old army officer fella before he started going dolalley or his daughter to cover her dads tracks.

What will they find in the cellar?

Is Getric blackmailing the old army fella to tamper with dna evidence because of the girl burned to death in Basra?

Magooagain, spot on with your theories. Fantastic last episode, very moving too. Just hope this was not the last series, Jean Baptiste is a great creation and so well acted.

no new shows next year and probably no more ever as the writers are too busy on four other projects. Fingers crossed for 2018...at the earliest

Great show. I was also a bit dubious about the Brigadiers alzheimers. I thought there might be a massive 'Usual Suspects style twist at the end where he acts all smug that he's got away with what happened, but he must atleast have some form of alzheimers otherwise he wouldn't have given away the info about Iraq (and the '3 of them') to Baptiste.
