Has anyone seen these commercials, typical of post Christmas adverts. You can build this model, which I admit does look great, after just 130 issues at £8.99 a pop!

That is a grand total of over £1160. Or put another way the combined value of 2 of the 3 cars in my drive!

Who falls for these things!

Yes but the first issue is always at a bargain price, giving a massive saving (not) on the total build cost...

It's the same every year. Somebody must buy them.

Probably 3 people go the whole distance.

I imagine the companies concerned in such sales have a pretty good idea of how many components to order for each issue.

I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using.

It's 4 per month, so just under a mere 3 years to complete. In answer to the question "HOW MANY ISSUES ARE THERE IN THE COLLECTION?" the answer is "To build the fully functioning, time travelling model, there will be 130 issues".

So in 3 years time, if I want to go Back to the Future (or forward to the Past) and the actual real time travelling part of it doesn't work, can I sue them under the Consumer Rights Act on the basis that it is not "fully functioning!?

You can also build an R2D2 replica as well.
