Well it's been 4 years since i sold my ink black 20vt, i have had a porshe 911 C2, and a supra manual 3.0, but i'm back into coupe ownership. I picked up a steel grey 20vt 1998 yesterday drove it 350 miles home to devon and it drives like a dream. Thought i would hi to everyone - dont recognise many names from 4 years ago (remember someone called biglad). Really missed the coupe even thought it was more fun than the 911. First question however, when i had my black 20vt i had a bleed valve fitted with the boost guage in the window pillar (it was part of a group buy). Which boost guage will fit in the clock space and look right at night?, which bleed valve should i use? and when i had it fitted last time they said that the fiat traction control in first gear had been taken off - how was this done? is it just because the boost valve over rides it? Just wondering if things have changed from 4 years ago!!!! Would really appreciate your advice

Welcome Finster, you did well finding us afer the great crash of 2005

Mines just a standard coop and I've been here about 2 years, but some such as Begbie, Nigel and even Big Lad might remember you from 4 years ago. and might be able to answer your queries too.

They'll be alomg shortly

Welcome back

Lots has changed since 4 years ago! I joined in 2001/2002 and development of the coupe has advanced quite considerably.

For the boost guage check ebay. Here's an example http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SMOKED-BAR-BOOST-G...bayphotohosting

For the bleeed valve IIRC contact cosmogragh - he should be able to sort you out: http://www.fiatcoupeclub.org/forum/showprofile.p...ge=4&topic=

Not sure about the traction control. Never heard of it being disconnected before.

Enjoy

Boost is limited in first and second IIRC to keep wheelspin down, as standard. However when you fit a PRV/Bleed valve, you take away the CPU's ability to control the boost and so the limiter is lifted.
Same applies if you fit a G-Tech or other chips, the limiter is removed.

Coopless!

Thanks for the info guys, what is a G-Tech, is this a chip that does away with the need to fit a bleed valve to get more boost, am i right in saying the coupe runs at about 0.8 std but most people put theirs at 1.2 with the valve?

Right then what should the first thing i do to increase power that is best for cash for bhp - need to catch up with you guys again!!!!! Will put k+n filter in etc but what are these electronic boost controllers? does this mean no one is fitting bleed valves anymore!!!!
