ali_hire OP Forum is my life A Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 5,294 Portsmouth	In a fit of rage or possibly by accident, my wife broke the charger for our iPad (the cables fine, but the bit that plugs into the wall is broken). Can any of you tech savvy people help with a replacement? I don't feel like I need to pay Apple prices for their specific charger but what to make of the minefield of third party chargers? There seem to be loads which claim "super fast charging" but does anyone know the science behind it to know if those are just spurious claims? Click here to donate to Ickle Pickles

Personally if I had an iPad I would gulp and pay Apple's price. Don't fancy an overnight house fire. 16VT and X1/9 1500 We must all do our part for the planet. I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using. I even unplugged my own.

Another suggestion is that you can always buy a multi port charging hub from the likes of Maplin and charge multiple devices at the same time and you could also use a laptop or PC USB port to charge in the interim period till you get a new one. Whenever I use an iPhone charger on my iPad it feels like it's taking forever. And, if you're using the iPad at the same time, it barely makes any headway at all. If Amazon offer a basics iPad cable I'd recommend it.

Wattage is power. Power = voltage x current. Given voltage is a constant and you already have a power rating, it only leaves the current to fluctuate. Boooooooooost!!!
