I have used Centauro at Malaga airport every time I go to the Costa del Sol for the last 20 years.
Never had a problem with them and not expensive, usually get an upgrade these days. Go for their comprehensive insurance cover and there is no deposit to pay nor messing about at the end of the hire.
16VT and X1/9 1500
We must all do our part for the planet. I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using.

Can't help on the car rental front, but have fun driving round Barcelona. It's not too bad, but you will see some stupid driving & maneuvers. If you get out of town and on the motorways, you might be the scantly glad woman stood at the slip roads (prostitutes) which is always weird to see. With filling the car up, they do it differently in Spain. Pull up to a pump, go to the kiosk, give them however many Euro's, tell them the pump number, fill car up. When full and have money left over, go back to kiosk and get your change. Don't do what I did and stand there like a lemon for about 3 minutes working out why I couldn't fill the car up

It's not something I'd actually considered With filling the car up, they do it differently in Spain. Pull up to a pump, go to the kiosk, give them however many Euro's, tell them the pump number, fill car up. When full and have money left over, go back to kiosk and get your change. Don't do what I did and stand there like a lemon for about 3 minutes working out why I couldn't fill the car up Useful tip Not hanging about in Barca though, we have spent a few fantastic days there in the past. Heading up towards Begur and do some exploring up there, perhaps visit Cadaques again and revisit the Dali houses.

I'm using CarHireGo from Malaga on Saturday: https://www.carhirego.com/Very good deal because of a tie-in with the guy who runs the paragliding accommodation, but worth a look anyway. Other paragliders have used him previously, but have heard nothing bad about them. I also have a UK-provided excess cover insurance; whether I'll need it or not I don't know but it was only £30 or so for a year.

Good shout Joe, Mrs Ed and I were just talking about that last night - trying to think where we've put the bloomin things! Gone with Centauro in the end, a more reputable company and more peace of mind - the quote was only another £20 or so

Just dont use Gold Car - absolutely shocking service, huge ques and rip off insurance etc. that is a compulsory extra before they will give you the keys when you pick up etc.

Cheers for all the input chaps. In addition to plumping for Centauro I'm going for one of these Excess Insurance Cover schemes - there's not much difference between a fortnight's and an annual cover so for around £30-odd I can get 12 months as opposed to double that offered by the carhire firm I am however going to write down everything that's agreed to at pick-up point and video the state of the vehicle + fuel gauge before driving off! Oh and we have both surprisingly found our EU health cards
