I've been on here for more than a decade but unfortunately I've just brought a Coopers so decided to join a mini Forum and also a closed mini Facebook group

I have to be honest but the FB group is shocking

People start posts and they get absolutely ripped to pieces by others

Don't get me wrong one or two have posted pretty stupid questions but bloody hell the responses reall are quite shocking

The mini forum is as boring as watching paint dry and so far I can't work out how the hell to post anything

Well I love the car but I'm not sure I'm going to enjoy what goes along with it

Oh and they have rules

1 if you see a mini in a car park you must park next to it ........sod that, I park away from anyone else
2 if you see another mini on the road you must wave ........so you have any idea how many of these things are on the rd
3 I've lost interest now and don't care

Think I. Going to miss this lovely warm and friendly forum

You neither have to leave here nor join a mini forum.

I've now not had a coop for longer than I had one (or two) and I'm still here (make of that what you will laugh ).
On the other hand, MrsWishy has owned a Mini Cooper for about 6 years now and neither of us have needed to join any Mini groups.
Anything we have needed to know has been answered by Googling such groups or t'internet in general.

Up yours Photobucket.

In all the yrs I've been on here if I've ever posted a question I've always got a sincere and honest answer ......

I'm buggered if I'm trying my luck on the mini site

Yes, I've never been away even though I didn't have a coop. I bought a Kia Soul and joined their forum but as you say it's about as interesting as watching paint dry.

I've always found the coop forum to be a friendly and useful place to ask questions, air your views, get marital advice laugh

I've just been on the mini forum and from what I can work out you need a degree in nuclear physics just to post a thread

Oh well

I do have to say thought the cooper S we brought is an absolute scream and way to fast

The thing is about the Coop forum is the very fact the choice of car & all that it stands for kinda says a lot about the owner, young or old, mind you owners tend to be on the mature side...No real surprise about the Mini forum well the BMW lot..... wink Forums are/can be funny places as I've said before. Again I'll relate about the forum I joined for information regarding my diesel hack. An eye opener to say the least. Aged about late teens, very bad communication skills & that included swearing/shear lunacy towards their mates.

I was accused of using "proper language & spelling skills" laugh
I kid you not, things came to a head when I posted up a facetious retort to an impossible quote about this lads car, I'm not going to bore you all with too much detail, but his BHP was going to be doubled by his engine skills. Upshot was this lad & his mates were going to hunt me down & kill me..... punch

Aye! other forums indeed........ type

I'm an old git & happy with it,most of the time

When I had my Cooper S I joined Mini Torque which was okay really.
Some really know their stuff on the Mini's.
Now my daily runner is a BMW 120d coupe so I joined BabyBmw, yet again some really know their stuff.
However loads of diesel owners talking mpg zzzz or newbies buying a BMW with a couple of niggles like electric window fault and all of a sudden it's the worst car they've ever owned.
Neither forums are half as good as here.

Mate, having had my coop since 1998, I may not contribute as much as I did... But this place is a steady barometer of normal peeps......

I know we all have our off days etc... But the grass isn't always greener...

You know it's a significant thread if Taz posts!
I bought my first coupé on September 11th 2001. The date sticks in my mind... I sold it in 2007 and remained here until buying my second coupé last year. That has sadly now gone too, but if you think that means you're getting rid of me, sorry! I've joined the forums for every other car I've owned in the meantime and although some of them are informative, none has the one and only Forum Powaaaaah!
