Just like to share with everyone, it's our fortieth wedding anniversary. That means lashing out on something ruby for the wife. We are heading back to our roots in Aberdeen where we first met 43 years ago, can't believe it has been that long. We do actually get on very well together & there's still a spark between us... wink

She actually still puts up with me, must be doing something right! hippy

Congratulations, Jim. And indeed Mrs Jim. I'm sure after your recent scare, the celebrations will be all the sweeter. Cherish each other; it's an old-fashioned word, but it is so important.

Ah! thank you very much Jim for the kind words. We still love each other very much. Bit of a rarity these days.

Congratulations to both of you Jim. When it was our ruby anniversary I got Mill a large chunk of ruby. (She is an artist and jeweller)

We have our 47th on the 25th.

Nice one Mr and Mrs Jimboy. Made up for you both.

If I was in the trenches I would want you two along side me.

God bless.

Ah, good one Jim smile

I was 15 into my first and now almost 21 into my current - takes a special relationship to do what you've done smile

Enjoy it to the full!

Thank you all that have responded. Some happy stories to be had on here, but there are some sad. This forum can be a wonder at times. Lost count on how I've said, like others, I came on here looking for advice/technical know how regarding the Coop, which I did, but I learned so much more about life, loves, how some people view things etc, etc, the list goes on.

Thanks again Jim. smile

Wifey and I had our 30th earlier this year and I felt proud, so you must be well chuffed to have done 40 - well done.

I agree that there's a definite element of the girls putting up with us, so I think its more a case of the girls' tolerance than our perseverance rolleyes

Congratulations - we celebrated 33 years on Friday. As Nigel says, probably the girls putting up with us!

I'm sure the girls have a lot of annoyances too, just that men aren't as bothered by them or let it dwell, men just persevere and get on with it laugh

It takes both to work at it and stick with it though, so well done all cool

I would have been married 27 years this year if I'd stuck with it, but got divorced after 3 years. Some things are just not worth fighting for or persevering with.
