my car blew up on the RR at 2.2 bar.

not really.

after fitting my GT28RS i obviously needed a remap. so i sent the car down to paul on tuesday.

after 3 hours on the RR it was leaning out to 13.3 AFR at 5k, dangerously lean paul looked for a problem. the fuel rail was running dry, suspected pump supply problem.

so the car returned to me and i went back today with glen to spend the day with paul diagnosing what went wrong.

armed with a new fuel pump just incase we started to check rail pressure and flow pressure from the pump. both were more than enough pressure, which was odd, although the car was leaning out bigtime at the top end still.

we fitted the new pump just to eliminate fluctuating pressure at the top end, but still running lean.

checking the MAF voltage proved that was working ok too.

after an oscilloscope reading the injectors were only running at max 80%, something quite abnormal for the 20VT.

this turned out to be a chip problem, the existing novitec fitted wasnt getting the injectors duration high enough, even though at the previous map it was doing just find with the usual maxxing of the injectors at 5500rpm.

so with a GTEC2 high fuelling chip the fuelling richened up to way more than expected.

we then downgraded the Regulator to a 3.0 bar from the 3.8 bar reg we were running, and with some tweaks of the unichip fuelling paul was able to achieve 315.2bhp at 1.3 bar.

overall im happy now, my last figure was abit lower than expected, but now im on par, and with the methanol injection ill be on par for 330bhp+.

car feels like a monster on the road now, with an awesome top end.

im still running rich at 11.3 afr so once thats fine tuned with abit of advance id hope to see another 5 bhp or so.

I quote Suba '1.3Bar? You're just tickling the RS!'

Which Aquamist system are you going for Rog.. 1S, 2C or 2D?

Edited to say I've just seen your Group Buy post.

Well done Rog, glad you're pleased!

rog are you going for a dual map setup? you might as well if you're runnign the Aquamist, that should buzz you past 330bhp comfortably

Joe

no im not getting cams now.

that figure was with the head, but my compression is only 140psi, so i can run more boost.

unfortuneatly i didnt get to do any 1.6 bar runs as intended due to time, but all in due course.

Rog - just a thought - did you measure the voltage at the fuel pump under load? I know you're not a fan of the voltage mod, but I got a lot more fuel availiable at the top end by giving the pump a constant feed.

On the bright side your running rich so there's plenty of fuel there if you want to run more boost with the RS mid range.
